Renntech airbox will provide about 10hp. Its nice to have but $1k for 10hp........ Our car only worth $10k so you do the math. If my car still worth $20K I will take it + Header + ECU tune for total $2500 but will bring my car to 400Hp/450 torque ?! Unfortunately airbox alone only 10hp. Good luck ! I know it was expensive like $2k when it was new but...... my car was $70K when it was new and now only $10K

why spend 1k for 10hp when you can spend the same or less for an ECU and get 40hp?

40hp? this isn't the supercharged e55...n/a e55 is ~15-20hp

The airbox is more for rarity and slight enhancements without tune...
And again, people can always make an offer...

Tuned: 373hp not 391.
NA W210 only get 24hp at crank which make sense. Even W211 makes only 30hp with tune. The good thing with the Airbox is when you try to sell your car, you can still sell the box separately but if you go for ECU tune that's it. $1k for ECU tune is way over priced.

nice box but too much money. I bought the AMS headers and crank pulley together for a grand. Granted, you can always sell the box separate but still, what price would you sell the box after 2 to 3 years down the road when the W210 E55 gets older. But, if you offer me a good price i might think about it.

i figure since this is rare, i would offer to the forum first before trading the car into dealer...

Off topic...There's something about the AMG badge at the back of the car. I feel like, everytime I drive the car, there's always some dude that want to race you. I'll always let them past me for a few cars ahead and WHAM.....take off and pass the little honda civic like it was standing still...

Oh yea that never gets old lol. One of my buddies has a civic Si that he spent a lot of money on, pretty everything except FI and boy I couldn't even see him in my rear view.

I've had my E55 for a year now and have only had one race because of the badge. It was some newer Mustang GT that was modded (maybe a 2005 or so, sounded badass) that started throwing revs at me on the freeway. It was late and we ran from 70-120 and he pulled a car on me. I was quite happy with how my stock, 11 year old car did against it.

i shaved the rear emblems...had too many inquiries if it was real...

like the dodge commercials..does it have a hemi? i get, is that a real amg?

damn dealers putting amg on just about every mercedes

I got challenged last week when i was with my W211 by other Mercedes.
W212 E350. I pulled him twice by 4 to 5 cars. The guy got pissed off because he thought his newer Mercedes can smoke the previous generation. And I still have my AMG badge ! I have walked a W212 E63 6.2 and M6 few months ago. Sure, i am not stock.....

+1 I've read somewhere with actual Dyno numbers 15ish+ HP but with full mods on NA. Still very pricey. I was lucky I bought mine with the car at a pretty good price. It really does make the engine bay look prettttty tho
