What did you do to your E55 today?

Now that you mention it, I forget the specifics as well. I do recall it is a simple adjustable cable. IE: turning tighten. Though I do recall only a minor amount was necessary. Mine, as most used ones do, came with the bracket still attached.

Gauge rings and pixel repair
I used a kit from http://akspeedo.com/ the instructions were not great but after a few youtube videos and some trial and error I figured it out.

Finally replaced the transmission oil, or at least about 2/3 of it, via the the pan drain method. Also replaced the gasket and the filter. My pilot washer (transmission connector) was leaking and I replaced that too, that's when I ran into some problems. I applied too much pressure to the screw securing the pilot washer into the solenoid housing and snapped the screw, had to drop another transmission part and $210 later I was back to reassembling everything. Also did a coolant flush and checked my foglight, was afraid the wires were bad, but it turned out that I had bad bulbs.
I have already replaced so much stuff on this car since I got it at a dealer auction in poor condition, and there are only a few things remaining from making it mint. Figuring out why the key won't work (already changed the key batteries), also why the trunk won't lock with the mechanical key, check SRS light, clunking noise when turning the wheel sharply during slow speed, alignment, and I think that's it.

Added AFE Pro Dry S air filters and stainless steel brake lines to the E55. And man did both of those little modifications make a HUGE difference in the way the car feels. Throttle response (especially at highway speed) is greatly increased by the air filters and the brake lines really helped firm up that pedal feel!! Car stops way better from all speeds (especially from the triple digits).

Replaced power steering, and brake fluids. The noise of rubber vs rubber rubbing went away after this, also brake pedal feels slightly harder. Cleared out windshield washer reservoir, because it had a lot of gunk in it. Also replaced the fog lights, turned out I had a bad fuse besides the bad bulbs. It's fuse #7 behind the dash, if anyone has an issue with their fog lights and decides to check. Planning on installing Kleemann headers tomorrow.

New windshield and star wreath for the holidays. Kinda mad because the glass is blue with gray shade so not pure blue. Not what I wanted but found out after install. At least no cracks now !!

Any problems with the install?
My windshield is in a very bad shape, whole glass is pitted.
Cheers

I am not happy with the tinted glass. I will replace again, as silly as that sounds, in a few months. I just like the light blue pop of the glass in overcast skies.
Ill try parts.com and see if they can ship me oem. They are $220 shipped and ill go with the same company for install.

I've tried a 3-4 different attempts with shims. My have to pull off, clean and reattach. Then fail and hit up that site for New ribbon cables.

Had the resonator and second cats removed and a magnaflow x-pipe installed the other week. Also, discovered that my primary cats are completely empty...check engine light came on because of this and instead of putting new cats in my mechanic suggested we try a little experiment that sometimes lets us "beat" the system and run cat-less. So, I just had O2 sensor spacers installed on the downstream O2 sensors (removes them from the direct exhaust stream by about 1") and I've gone about 200 miles and no check engine light is on!! Seems like the spacers may work!! The sound gets better each week too!
Haven't been in this thread for a while. I have been suggesting to the guys here about the O2 extension for some time now. My friend has a 2006 WRX and he took the primary cats out and replace them with the L-shape extensions and it worked....no CEL. I'll definitely go that route when my primaries go and have straight pipes from front to the rear exhaust.
BTW are the extension on yours just straight an inch longer or did you go with the L-shape ones?

Front lower control arms, ball joints, turned the rotors, new pads and painted the calipers. That was last weekend this week i sealed the upper part of the valve covers with silicone, new seals on the plastic elbow between mas and Tb, new air filters, and replaced all the breather hoses. My throttle position sensor was acting weird so that was also replaced. Car runs much better and is more responsive now.
