Opinions on Tire Sizes
Fellas..About to get some new tread and can't decide on size..Car is an 02 E55 lowered on H&R/Koni combo with #1 pads in all corners and stock Monoblocks..I can't decide if I wanna go with the Euro spec (235/40/18) and (265/35/18)..Or the US spec (245/40/18) and (275/35/18)..Also may run some spacers for a little poke..Opinions please..Who's running US spec tire sizes on a low W210 E55 and do you have any rubbing issues up front?...

Mine was dumped in the front and pretty low in the rear on kleemann springs and #1 pads for a while. Was running 245/275 and it put an outwards dent on the passenger fender lip when I backed out of a high driveway at an angle with the wheel turned. Hasn't rubbed again since I got another brand of tires. Rear never had any issues, pretty sure it will be fine with a 10mm spacer also.

Thanks for the reply..That's exactly what I wanted to know..If I stay with stock wheels I'm gonna go with the Euro spec sizes..May even do 235 in front and 275 in back..However since yesterday,Im learning that a lot of opinions floating around about not being able to run anything larger than an 8.5 rim on the front of these vehicles is wrong..Cruising the net I've found many W210s running super wide low offset wheels without issue..I've spoken to a gentleman yesterday that is running an 18x11 ET35 with a 265/35/18 out back,, and a 18x9.5 ET25 with a 225/40/18 in front..He is lowered on H&Rs with no rubbing at all and the car looks wicked..

I'm running 285/35/18 in the rear and stock up front. The car really drives different w/the 285/35/18. Or maybe it was just new rubber but it sure feels different. The stance/look of a 285/35/18 from the rear is hella nice

You can go wider than 8.5 on the front but you would have to run stretched tires and possibly do fender work. On my 320 I had 18x8.5 ET38 + 10mm spacer with a 245/40 tire. It fit without rubbing but was very close to the fender. The same setup with a 5mm spacer almost rubs on the inside suspension bolt so there is not alot of room to play with without using smaller tires.
