secondary cats

I am finally getting my X pipe put in tomorrow along with resonator delete.
Are the cats worth anything or are they worthless ceramics?

Also, from what I have read, this modification is worth about 10-15hp, much better sound, and if your nice to it, a couple mpg better fuel mileage?

I doubt any gain in hp... maybe 5hp only.

You will gain HP and sound. It was noticeable for me!

Wait, the X-pipe should go where the resonator is, not the rear cats. Though my vote is to remove the rear cats at the same time.

Well it's all installed. It sounds excellent, very deep growl. I haven't gotten on it much yet, but just the sound is worth it imo.

Yes. There was a link to a site that buys the cats for the metals.
Someone?

I installed a stainless X pipe in place of the secondary cats and two stainless 45 degree elbows in place of the big resonator towards the rear of the car.

It is quiet at idle, quiet just cruising around, but when you get on it a bit she is fairly loud, no rappy sounds or buzziness, just a nice deep v8 growl.

Cool. I did the same thing but my X is where the resonator was and the cats are gone. There is a nice rasp at full throttle you just can't hear it well in the car.

Ended up getting $40 per cat. Not too had with low prices as of now.
