how do you reset your tranny, by unplugging battery cable in trunk?
or do you follow steps by keeping key in ignition, pressing axxelarator down etc. etc.

No!
Do not unplug the battery. You will end resetting so many things.

First you turn off everything in the car.
Insert key and turn all the way prior to ignition and leave the key in the second position.
Put your foot on the accelerator and depress all the way to the floor and hold it in for 30 seconds.
Leave key in position 2 for 2 minutes and don't turn anything on nor open the door.

Some find that after depressing the accelerator for 30 seconds and turning the key back
to insert position and leaving the key in works as well.
I've tried both ways and I am only assured the Transmission is reset by my method.
It absolutely makes a driving difference.

Cheers.

no, i don't remove battery clamp, it will give error codes.
i have done the other thing you described with key in ignition for 2 minutes.

this reset mod is it approved by MB tech or did a hobbyist come up with this reset mod with key in ignition for 2 minutes?

I don't know the answer to that. I read it on a Forum or maybe the Manual.

Heck of a big Manual.

I've found the biggest difference from leaving the trans in "3" while driving around town on roads with speed limits of 60km/h or less (37.5mph) and I want the car to react. Even in "4" under these conditions, you're a downshift or 2 away from the gear you want to be in to GO, and by the time the car starts moving your window is closing.

These cars are geared so tall, it makes driving in town frustrating, as a car with 350+hp should never feel slow, lol.

Interesting.

350 H.P feels slow?
What are you used to driving? You must have/had some crazy vehicles.

This is the most powerful vehicle I've ever owned, what I'm saying is it can be underwhelming in traffic if you've got the transmission in "5" and want to make a sudden move. You're 2-3 downshifts away from the kind of acceleration you'd expect from a car boasting those numbers. The power doesn't really come on hard until north of 3K rpm, which requires 2nd gear in the city. A lower powered, manual transmission car would be much faster to react and move in those situations. My daily commute is 95% low speed limit city driving, and a waste of this car's talents.

I like my Sprintbooster. Helps with the adaptive transmission, since I usually putt around town it thinks I am a little old lady who only drives to church on Sunday. The Sprintbooster reduces the amount of time I have to reset the trans. To all those naysayers out there about the Sprintbooster - don't bother. Yes I realize I could just be pushing the throttle pedal down more aggressively for the same effect, but I don't, and I like the Sprintbooster - makes the throttle response more like I think it should be from the factory.

Sprintbooster or PedalBox is on my short list of mods for this car.

Never!

and besides ... i tried this "ignition, padle thingy" once to confirm if it works as i own a star diagnosis and can check the actual adaption values. as far as i can tell not one adaption is reset by this method.

greetings, Fabian
