Using DAS with obd

Hi I recently purchased a 210 e55 as a daily and already had a 211 e55. Anyway I was trying to hook up my DAS to the 210 and could not get it to work being plugged into the OBD port. I know there is also the road port in the fuse box so I am wondering if it only works through that port and if so can I just get an adapter or do I need a whole new cable for my DAS?

Thanks in advance.

Early cars do not use the OBD2 port, they use the underhood connector, which needs a specific cable as you said.

The diagnostic program is not the same either, it will be HHT, not DAS. When you connect and it sees the car, it should automatically load up the older software.

Right when I input the vehicle it noted the different software. I was just really hoping one of the OBD to circle adapters would work. Guess I will try to find another cable for my unit.

You may be able to get an adapter, I can't say for certain. We have a separate cable we attach to the SDS unit for the old cars.
