Rear tires wearing faster than front.........

I just put PS2's on about 6000 miles ago and my rear tire has almost no tread left. How is it possible the rear's are wearing faster then the fronts.?I really don't do any burnouts so it does not make sense.

I have not tried PS2's, but I ran Bridgestone S03 Pole positions twice now. Sounds like normal wear! I only got 8000 out of my rear tires. About 12 on the fronts. Whether you are doing burnouts or not, these cars are prone to moderate wheelspin at all times with minimal throttle before the ESP stops the spin. This wears out tires. Welcome to the world of high performance!

just because the tire isnt losing traction doesnt mean it's gripping harder. The rears will always wear faster than the front in a rwd car, unless autocrossing or open tracking.

Its the torque, everytime you hit it even while moving you are working those rears. 516 lb/ft will do it everytime.

I think something is wrong with mine as well. I step on the friggin pedal and something seems to catch fire in the rear portion of the vehicle near the fender wells. I get out and check and smoke clears, but there is never any fire...just a lot of smoke...what the h ell??!!??

Just picking dude...seriously, if tread never wore out, we never would need new shoes. Your shoes don't smoke and do burnouts, just wear with use. Put on one pair of Air Jordans and play 100 games of outdoor b-ball, then put on another pair and walk the same distance. One is gonna wear more quickly. Same concept, tires are pushing 4000lbs into motion with over 500ft lbs of force....somethings gotta give. Honestly, better those then that 3000$ tranny.

You of all people should know why.....Leadfoot. Expect 2 rears for each front. I would think you might get a few more miles on the rears however. My wife's M3 gets 20k out of her rear PSs. My Vette usually gets 17k. I just replaced my rears with PS2 and will monitor wear and keep you posted.

LOL, not to get on the band wagon but mine must be broken, too. Haha. Come on, Leadfoot. Learn to respect your car for the raw power it has.

Very few cars CAN wear out a set of 265s in so few miles!!

Well if burnouts were the only reason tyres wore out, you'd never need a new set.
