Since these cars go for around $61k brand new, and most of the ones selling for $45k have 7 to 10 thousand miles on them, I figured $45k for a 1,200 miled IS-F (basically one month used) is a good deal. However, is $45k is the asking price, I think $40k is within reach

I really don't want to jump into a car that does not fit what what I'm exactly looking for but I really do like the Lexus brand.
I test drove the C63 and E63 back to back - my feeling is the C63's interior besides the awesome front seats lacks a lot of the feel of the IS-F. Just feels a bit cheaper interior wise - something that the E63 shines with the use of suede. Pricing on a C63 is not that great discount wise nor is the gas mileage so that's why I narrowed my choice to the E63 especially with the great discounts they are giving off 2008 models.
Too bad Lexus does not have a GS-F out yet which is more of a competitor to the m5 and Mercedes e63....
I'll have to do some more thinking....thanks!

I don't want to sound stuck up or pretentious, but for the amount of money are spending, I would choose a BMW or MB anyday over a Lexus. Don't get me wrong, Lexus is a great brand (my brother-in-law owns an IS300) and the advantage that lexus has over both BMW and MB is that the price you pay includes a pretty much loaded car with every option with the latest technology. The thing that bugs me about MB is that the options on vehicles are ridiculously priced for the technology that you get (i.e. crappy iPod kit, outdated NAV, etc).
However, there is something to be said about the cache of owning a MB or BMW. You can try to pretend that it doesn't mean anything, but at the end of the day when you're paying $100k for an AMG when you could have paid 1/5 of that for a Ford, it really does.
