My tech had the same problem with rear calipers, he ended up breaking a one socket and 2 extension before getting it off. He ended up spraying it with some wd-40 or something similar and letting it sit while he finished up the other ones. Hopefully you have it on a lift as I'm sure it will help...good luck!

Heat the bolts enough to soften the threadlock.

Yes..heat. Although any tech worth his money should know this.

Eh... You could do that but I would just use some kind of penetrating spray; Seafoam Deep Creep, or WD-40 or PB Blaster or anything similar. Let it sit for a few then it should break loose.

i would spray liquid wrench first and bang with a heavy hammer or the equivalent second to break the rust/corrosion. heating is secondary and always last resort, becasue i have seen instances where torching has expanded thread that bolts go in to.

I didn't mean to heat it red hot- just hot enough to break the loctite...

NO no bro, it's all good and you're right. My usual route would be:

try to open it.
bang on it to loosen rust/loctite
spray it
bang on it
heat it, as a last resort..
