Possibly buying an '03 E55. Anything I should specifically look out for?
I have an '05 E500 and caught the torque bug from a friend with a modified E55. I found a dealership in Atlanta with an '03 with ony 60K. It looks bone stock, from the pictures. I was personally looking for an '05 but, the price is right...
Are there any items that were problematic on '03's? Any gotcha's or things I should look out for prior to buying?
Thanks,
Todd

a Rivera...via a Custom 24, Strat and Les Paul
radiator leaking into the tranny; spark plugs changed (price that job out to see why) brakes (price out again to see why) and any of the other "wear and tear" items (price them out to see why

supercharger pulley/bearings, IC pump, airmatic struts, and brakes those are typically the big items

I bought my 03 E55 in January w/ 55K on miles. Make sure you get a good extended warranty for it. If I hadn't got the warranty, I'd be really screwed right now. Got about $15K worth of parts brand new (oem) and a brand new transmission (free of cost)

Airmatics are starting to go bad left and right on us.
KNOW that you will lose all 4 one by one within the next 12-24 months. You can put them in DIY but is very hard without Star DAS (mercedes software that the dealers use to deflate the shock to install)
If possible make sure you snag a warranty or you will be sorry.
