I'm posting these two videos to get a general feeling as to what fellow amg members feel about this matchup. As for the e55 I would like to know if it's modded or what it has done to it.

Newbie M5 driver crossing the line in front of the E55 for one. Most likely because he is paying more attention to his mirrors than the road.

The new M5 is a POS end of story

Anyone who wants a 2012 sedan should get the E63 or the CLS63. BMW really hit the last nail on their ugly coffin, GOOD RIDDANCE!!

Why doesn't BMW close their stupid hideous factory down and commit suicide

NO, NO, NO didn't you see, the BMW had it's period during the race so the E55 let it go a bit so it wouldn't cry. Then on the rolling race the E55 slowed down to help the M5 keep up so it won't feel lonely and menstruate again

+1 that's why 55 let go earlier otherwise the M5 coming too close to the fender. A stage 2 E55 should walk stock M5 F10 !!!

Damn you are really biased against BMW and even their drivers huh? Why not show just a hint of respect towards them at least? I mean some of their cars (okay most) have very questionable styling cues and looks, but at least give some props to their technology, drivability, handling, braking and some other things.

And to the video, the E55 AMG is clearly modded however nobody knows what is exactly has and whether it has headers or not.

The 55K only had ECU tune which about 491hp + 20hp = 511hp approx.
E55 with pulley and header will be different story. Plus, 55 came out from 2003 and F10 M5 is 2012 so 9 years old different in technology is huge.

I'd like to try an F10 M5. They may have launch control and other fancy gadgets, but I have DRs that don't get enough action!

Honestly what the hell is with the hate? I just came from a 335i, great car. F10 M5 is a great car and I think it looks beautiful. Now I wont say that it doesn't seem that BMW is losing the quality because it is sadly but still? that's un called for.

I have to say when I had my BMWs before I loved them, hated Mercedes. Now that I have my E55 do I hate BMW now? No...not at all, I'm actually more of a true car enthusiast that a fan boy...

As for the video, it's logical that the M5 would win against a stock E55, modded E it would then depend on the mods. And would need atleast a large pulley, and headers to beat it.

I had a run in with a E60 M5 last night and I must say im not impressed. I walked him so hard it wasnt even funny...Lets say after about 4 car lengths i gave up...I'd say not too bad for a stock e55.

To be honest I love the E60 M5, I used to love BMW and owned 2, the E39 M5 and the E46 M3 and they made amazing cars back then. I could tell an E46 M3 from a mile away and the M5 too. That glorious V10 screaming brings a smile to your face but when they're adding sound to the stereo to compensate for engine noise....that's pathetic. The new M5 may be a good car, it may even be a great car but Mercedes-Benz has walked them so hard this time it's not even funny. The new CLS and E RAPE the BMW counterparts so hard there are warrants out for their arrests. I think BMW should stick to making the 1 series and the X3
