0w-40 is what Mercedes says to use.

You need 9 quarts of 0w40 Mobil 1 European Car formula. 9quarts=8.5Liters. Cheapest place to buy is Amazon or Walmart.
Hope this helps!

That would appear to be it. Look on the bottle to ensure it says approved against MB 229.5.

It is crucial that the product you use meets the AMG HTHS requirement if you want to protect your valvetrain.

This, I get mine at the Mercedes dealer for 6.25. They sell it at walmart for 6.50 and 8.25 at Autozone.

Check with your local dealer. I got mine down under $5 a quart with a friends wholesale account.

I think all Mobil 1 0W-40 sold in North America is the "European Car Formula".

Both are approved weights. FYI "most" dealers don't even use Mobil 1. There bulk oil and whet they sell over the counter are two different things. I have worked at 3 dealers and one used vavoline an the other two used cam2 if you get your car serviced (dealer or indy) tell them you want Mobil from the bottle and you want to see the empty bottles. It's due to cost. If they can save $2 a qt times how many quarts they use it adds up quick. It's not right, i know
