Ipod Integration for 03 Audio 50

Hey All,

Hope everyone is doing well.

Got a question regarding Ipod integration with the Audio 50 in my 03 E55. I have searched and read a lot of threads but have not been able to find or at least understand if there is an integration solution for my car. All I want is a hard wired solution. Don't care about steering controls, display on the head unit or any of that. I just want to be able to play songs without FM modulation or the cassette and I would like the Ipod to charge.

I called my local dealership and they said there was no MB solution besides upgrading my head unit. I called a reputable stereo shop here in ATL and they said 700 bucks for a solution.

I would appreciate it if you guys could possible point me to something between nothing and 700 bucks

I am guessing this is probably to only solution for the 03 as I have not been able to find a whole lot more.

Thanks again. This solution is more along the price I want to pay for iPod integration.

I have a Dension Gateway in my wife's Volvo XC90. Like the MB cars it has a fiber optic audio system with no easy way to wire in an Ipod or Sat radio. The Dension works like a champ. Not cheap, but really no other options.

Does anyone know where I can get an adaptor for the Dension GW500BT unit for this attachment?

My Dension kit does not come with an attachment that fits this. My car is a 2003 G55 but I replaced the command unit from a 2005 G500. It was a direct plug and play replacement even for the CD changer. I retained the CD changer from the original setup. I simply changed the head unit.

Has anyone seen this type of fiber optic attachment?
