If you don't mind a smaller car, a C63 would be nice. I like the extra legroom in the E55 over the tightness I felt in my old C300.

I was in a newer M3 with a ESS SC and it was pretty fun.

I actually have been thinking about moving into the E92 M3 4 door. It's a big loss in torque, but the E92 M is way sportier than the E55 plus it has a clutch pedal.

Both are great cars, I was actually debating on getting a 6spd E92 M3 after driving my friends around for a month and it was a very fun car to drive, especially with a manual trans. Chose to go with the C63 because of the power. M3 would be hella fun if you had the means of supercharging it.

Yea i know...... its a straight rocket car but not as fun as M3. I was thinking to get a stick car like 350Z just for fun...... wife say no. Happy wife happy life.

I'd say C63 or perhaps and SL63, you'd feel sporty in that bad boy

Well then how would a C63 differ? Auto/4door about the same speed.

Just throwing this out there... I sit in stop and go traffic for 90% of my 45 minute commute... A manual would be more of a pain than fun...

+1 - agreed - if you want something fast get a Japanese sport bike - cheap fun and it has a clutch - will get your need for speed -

I unloaded my M3 for the E55...the M3 is definitely more of a sports car, handles unbelievably & brakes stop ungawdly! Definite looker, comfy seats, great steering feedback...total drivers car.
here's what I personally didn't like: 1) Rode like poo poo compared to an MB on a nice highway ride 2) they rev like crazy...if your cruising 75-80 on the highway, they just rev high..although it shouldn't have, it bothered me 3) SMG....works great however it BLOWS in "Auto" mode and if you sit in traffic, want to make a call or a few other instances where shifting is a nuisance the feature is nice however it just feels/acts awful! 4) constant VANOS worry (dumb...BMW needs to address this) 5) It's just not an MB...doesn't have that "this car is special" feeling..interior was cheap IMO compared to MB.

Agree with this. Just the same as a 335 or a 328, same cheap interior!

The new m3 is pure sex... the new C63 coupe however is equally sexy imo.

A very slightly mod'd e55 will destroy an m3 on all levels, so unless you just miss shifting it would be a downgrade in my opinion....Hell get a built Evo 9 with ~600+ whp if you want to shift and fly - I know one of that could be for sale
