E63 Transmission Upgrade

http://www.renntechmercedes.com/www/node/524

noticed this when googling today.i was looking for an upgraded valve body or some sort of shift kit that would allow for quicker/firmer shifts.

anyway,if any of you guys are having transmission troubles or putting down more torque than it can handle, this looked like a viable option compared to the $5000+ other option.

that was the other option i spoke of.this one is $2000 cheaper though.

i had erratic shifting a week or so ago and started panicking looking for a good.reasonably priced rebuild and came up with those two options.i also talked with a well know racing transmission builder/re-builder who said he would do it and it was going to be cheaper than both of the above, but it would be his first 722.9(he specializes in the E55 trans),he said it might take him a little longer than normal, but it would be just as stout as the aforementioned companies.

anyway long story short,i had my fluid/filter changed and problem solved.i thought i would pass along a couple of options though.

Actually frankly NO, you shouldn't be kidding. Renntech is a JOKE when it comes to prices, they're delusional there's no other word for it. They don't even have some parts Eurocharge have and can't get you to 10s and yet they charge 28k to get an E55 to 584 CRANK HP with which you can get an E55 to 9s if you wanted. People feel all warm and fussy because they call it a "package" and give it fancy names like the "R3" . How about the "performance handling package" which is just retarded since airmatic doesn't have much potential and all they do is lower it and make some silly adjustments. An 82mm TB and "carbon airbox" for $6,800 They're flatout delusional and rely on the ignorant for sales. Look at the SLR upgrade, IC pumps, pulley, tune and exhaust, transmission upgrade and an LSD for $37,400 probably minus installation. I split my drink the other day looking at the price for the upgrade. Are their pulleys made of gold?
