Hopefully some heavy hitter AMG's show up this year, as there are hella fast GTR's and Vipers that steal the show, HINT HINT (LowPro; RBJ; E55AMGRocket; BlackBenz; Gadget)

Yes, the M5 will be there this year, only it will be in a different form. Last year it was on the stock block and 600rwhp through a V2 SI Trim. This year it will have a built bottom end with a F1 R huffer at 20lbs+.

F1X is where it's at. Go big or go home lol. Ill make sure I'm ready by then. I don't think we can contend with the gtr's and twin turbo vipers but I think 160+ is possible. Wonder how bad traction will be.

Traction was horrible last year... the runway is concrete and it goes without saying that there's no VHT, waterbox, etc...

They advised against burnouts last year, but the third car that lined up lit the tires. And the rest of the day, most people would at least do a light burnout to scrub the tires.

They do give you the option to launch from a dig, or to roll out. But the problem with rolling is the start is seldom "even"... every time there was one guy that would jump before the other one reached the cone, LOL

And yes, RedBullJunky needs to be here!!!!

I was going to link you guys to the PDF with speeds, but for some reason, I can't attach the same attachment in two different posts

Here's a post from last year's thread...

https://mbworld.org/forums/5391497-post62.html

In that post is a PDF that shows the speeds from the day. Based on that, I think 160's are a bit optimistic for the E55s... Mid 150's should be easily doable though. Some nice Benzes showed up that day -- would love to see more this year!

I'll be happy if I can crack 140, but I'm thinking realistically I'll be high 130's.

The car show alone is simply awesome to behold... Don't miss out on this one!

the fastest mercedes at last yrs event ran 149 mph. 160 is a lofty goal. that would put the car in the top 20 of 125 cars at last yrs event.

that is actually my goal for this is to top 160 a 10 mph increase over last yr.

registration opens at midnight april 5 if you are thinking of attending

heres a pdf of all the attending cars from last yrs event . this yr is also a 2 day event limited to 125 cars per day. personally i think its one of the best events of the entire southeast. no excuses run what you got as many times as you want. vp racing will also be there with any kind of fuel you want from 103 unleaded to c16 and everything inbetween.

be aware this is a very small town maybe 3 red lights. i think maybe 3 motels total but many folks have cabin rentals available. check the site for lodging. last yr had 130? cars and over 1000 spectators!

Don't know about this one. The 15th is my wedding anniversary.

We'll see. Maybe that would be my gift from her. The down side, she would probly want to party somewhere. So if that town is that small, it might not work. Who knows.

Clayton definitely doesn't have a night life, haha. They have a Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve "hot" salsa, a Walgreens, and a Dairy Queen that was last renovated in 1979.

I will try and make it, but might be in Germany with my parents picking up dad's euro delivery M5 sometime in September.

I believe so, but there are always some that pull out, so you may want to call and you are always welcome to come out and spectate if all else fails.

I don't know much but toad made a video of his car doing 0-160-0 all in 1 mile and his was stock at that time and all you guys have heavily modified cars and 160 in half mile is a lofty goal ?

Am I missing something ? like when Craig won the trophy I missed the point that the track was in a very bad condition , is something similar wrong here ?

I did the Chicago 1/2 mile and it was well worth it. I will do it next year if it comes back. I believe all the 55k cars around here were 140-155 range. I did a best of 149.8 before my tiny s600 brakes were smoked. time for 55 calipers.

Have fun and post vids.

Steve, trust me there will be a couple big guns there that we frequent track days with. Both have Vipers with Twins, and last I saw a 8.60 at 167mph pass at Silver Dollar. I heard that was only 60% throttle lol.

No big shop cars, just two guys that want to go CRAZY fast.
