Better hope you're under warranty when it does. Mine just went bad a few months ago and got it replaced under warranty. If your dealership tells you it just needed a "software update", don't listen to that BS because it will happen again soon (for me it was only a couple days later). Get the whole unit replaced.

The fact that when it goes out without Notice, you loose all BRAKES!
2 things I never understood, how can merc make brakes that fail without notice and leaking fuel in w211...and not get sued majorly!
Edit: i realize after the post brakes can fail in any car and I guess fuel can leak too but still on a merc! 90k car? Idk
