Weird Problem With 2006 E55 and O2 Sensors ++++++ PLEASE HELP
Hello all. I posted about a month ago about a CEL on my vehicle that came on within 48 hours of having my secondary cat and resonator deleted. From everything I've been told and read, that shouldn't have thrown a code and it was simply "coincidence". Well I had a performance shop I know put a defouler on the O2 sensor and the light came back on and was advised here that it is literally probably the O2 sensor that just needs to be replaced.
Well we swapped the 2nd sensor on the passenger side (the one throwing the code) with the sensor from the driver side and reset it... the light came back on and it still showed the sensor faulty on the passenger side....
The guys here at my VW store aren't too familiar with Mercedes and this car won't pass emissions and they can't sell it.... Any ideas at all why it's doing this? I said I would have the Eurocharged guys remote flash it back to stock, but I didn't think that would have mattered? Any ideas please?!?!

It currently has the standard ECU flash. All hardware is stock so it's whatever standard flash they do. And my tech has the codes written down. I will get that tomorrow.

+1. Post the code when you get it so we can better advise whether it is a harness issue or possibly a cat issue.

The easiest way to figure that out is to unplug one rear sensor. Wait for the heater element code to set and look it up and it will say what bank failed. Then figure out what bank is on what side and see if that matches up. If not, it is reversed.

Had this problem with mine and simply replaced the O2 sensors with new ones and voilą, problem fixed. Spent weeks chasing this ghost, but in the end, just getting new O2 sensors fixed this.
