Codes P2096 and 2098

Car has started throwing codes P2096 and 2098. It's a 2006 E55 with 108000 on it. I just bought it and know of only plugs and wires recently. Any idea where to start? Google and found a list of possibles causes. Any main culprit? Thanks for any help.

Definitely a vacuum leak somewhere to be lean.

If you cant fine any leaks, clear the CEL and see if it comes back

Hey Shardul. Whats up?
Man i have. Just went down to garage and pulled intake off. Nothing looks out of the ordinary vacumn wise????
Alittle history. Bought car with just K&N's. No codes ever!
Installed Fabtech H/E, Fabtech trans cooler, Kleeman headers and 5pc ASP pulleys. Code for not having bungs for rear 02's in new downpipes. but not P2096 and 98
Installed new bungs and did upper pulley, tune and belt wrap kit.
Code has been on and resets after cleared ever since. Did a reflash on tune lastnight and code back on today.

Have your rear 02 been turned off via the ecu remap? If they are
not then that is your problem since you dont have any primary cats

I fought those codes as well after installing LTH. After having the rear o2's "turned off" in the tune, (not with Star), we had to extend the wiring for the rear sensors. We also installed 90 degree extensions for the rear o2's. Ended up having to solder the connections on the wiring extension. Haven't seen the codes since.

Had the same codes after installing LTH as well. Tried extenders and getting retuned but did not help. The fix was getting the rear 02's turned off via STAR.

So if you turn them off via Star are they going to show Ready in the readiness monitoring or Not supported?

Is there a difference between getting the rear o2's turned off in your tune vs in Star? My tune supposedly has them turned off but I still get this 2096 code.

Also does anyone know if this 2096 code affect the ecu at all? Is the ecu altering fuel/timing because it thinks its too lean?

Do you have any data logging capability. I'll bet the short term fuel trims are bouncing around, triggering the codes. It's happening to me and is pretty much the only issue I have left to get worked out.

Does anyone have any instructions on how to delete the rear 02's via star? I searched and found something but it didn't seem people had success with it.
I'm chasing a 2096 code and fixed a small exhaust leak at the bottom collector and the code came back. The car seems to be running better after leak was fixed, but the code persists. If anyone has anything its appreciated.

Check the Star/Das thread. I posted where I had to go in order to be able to program it, the actual location to change it is in that thread as well.

Thank you. Do you know if these cars pull timing when the 2096 code is given?
