w211 interior swap
I want to swap the interior between my w211s. I have 2 cars but one has a black interior and one a biege. I want to sell the one with the black interior but I really don't wanna keep the biege in the biege one. It gets too dirty and I prefer black. Is it easy swapping the interiors or are some items glued down and what not.

I don't know how hard the rear headrests are but the dashboard will not be fun. Don't forget that the carpet throughout the car will be different colors as well.

Rear headrests are SUPER EASY, google it. There's like a pin in the rear on each actuator that you push down on and they pop right out. Dashboard is easy but must be dismantled piece by piece. The dash fully splits apart but required finesse when taking out the trims and other equipment. Honestly not even a 3/4 day to remove everything nicely. Just make sure to mark bolts and not lose any!

Also start rear to forward, once you remove all the rear parts and seats remove the headliner. Then work on the dash.
PLEASE TAKE PICS OF THE PROCESS IF YOU DO IT!

Also last thing, options in the car! Seats especially! If they are not the same style (dynamic/lumbar/heat/cooled) then you will have issues! The rear door panels are also different on all cars, same with the b pillar (between doors). The b pillars are different if you have 4 zone or 2 zone climate control, while the rear door panels have sun shades or not that hook onto the plastic hook on the door frame. Other than that pretty straight forward. Sell too much W211 parts so I learned a few things.

this is a very easy and simple job to do in a day. Nothing hard about it at all. However, I am a trained professional. If you have little to no mechanical skills this simple task can become a nightmare very quickly

It does require a bit of skill and work, and if you don't have identical interiors, it will create a headache...
Once it is done, I'd be worried about resale. If somebody looks up the VIN, its going to say something different than what it shows.
If you ask me, it's time for a custom interior.

I feel like if the interior colors don't match up there must have been some sort of fire damage. Overall I think the stigma of not having matching 'numbers' or 'colors' in this case would decrease the value of the car. Custom interior work is usually obvious in most cases either way if you do decide to swap the interiors taking pictures would be helpful.
