I payed attention. Got one first week I owned this car along with all my other mods Didnt want to always wish I had more on my car like I did before. Been interested back when I had my GTO. It got horrible heatsoak. For people with long summers that should think about doing heater core mod. Costs about $30 in basic parts and chills your IC water. Need to revert back over when you need a heater though. could probably make some basic valves for it though for easy swap. Doesnt get water as cold as KC but works quite well. Basically you bypass the heater core from coolant system. Have the water run directly to and from your IC system. Turn AC on but turn temp all the way up. Will chill water. Made my GTO very constant but no heater at all with it. for $35 and 30 minutes its a pretty cool mod though. I should make a separate post about doing this sometime.
Out of curiosity did you dyno before and after with the 195 pulley ? With meth that seems like it might be a good amount of boost. Thought about getting an upper pulley if I got methanol. You have to change tune at all for meth ?

I was excited about adding a KC to my car, but have backed away from it due to concerns of winter driving.
From what I read, you can't run the KC in below freezing temps....you need to bypass it. When I saw some of the setups with shutoff setups, they ended up looking pretty amateurish with all sorts of valves that looked more appropriate in a home sprinkler system than a automotive application.

In AZ without the header and TB running just the 180 i have a dyno sheet showing 490rwhp and 525rwtq on a Dyno Dynamics. With the 195 and goodies it was only as 468/520 on a DD but not the same dyno and in ATL and not AZ, so numbers look like I went backwards but diff dyno and humid air in ATL. Car still felt night and day diff from just the 180. Once the meth was done it hit 506/668, added a trunk tank and then his 522/668.
As far a tune you can tune for it to get the most benefit or just spray for cooling. I feel if you aren't going to do it do it all the way. I have my meth in the washer resv so I get a message on the dash when low, which means about 1/2 gallon or so left. Plenty to get me home and still have some fun WOT if needed. Mine sprays at 8psi and no issues other than having to buy more!!! A gallon last me about a month or more depending on how much I drive and get on it, but I don't drive it daily.

Yes you can bypass it in the winter if you are in a cold climate so you don't use the compressor that's it.
I have a lot of experience with the KC and there would be no issues as long as you use antifreeze with your water so the KC doesn't crack, when the warmer weather comes then switch back to 100% water

I think he is talking about the HE. Yes a lot of people myself included bypass the HE or remove it all the way. You get your water temps about 10 degrees cooler without the HE.
Man you have me wanting more boost. Did you tune for added timing on your meth setup ? Would love to know more about the install on it. Using windshield washer tank would be perfect. I dont think I would want to tune for it unless it messes up the A/F. That way if it gets clogged or anything I will be running like I have been last two years. My IATs still get high on a long pull like a 1/4. would help a lot to have the meth I believe. Your TQ numbers are so much higher now. 660+

Even though I live in a very cold climate (NH) I run my AC year round in the E55. In the winter, the temps get as low as about -5F, and are regularly below 32F for most of the winter. The AC seems to help keep the windows from fogging up, so I use it even though the temp control is set to "HI" for maximum heat.... Not sure if having the A/C button on all the year long makes any difference to the way the KC works or whether it would be safe to run in winter?
I can totally appreciate the value of reducing IATs. This time of year the mornings are cold and crisp (maybe around 50F) and WOW does the car feel strong!!! It's like I got an extra 50HP under the hood...!
The KC seemed like a great option, though the plumbing seemed a bit intimidating to get it all installed.....when I read something about having to rework/bypass the system in cold weather it kind of killed my motivation since this car is my DD. I really didn't want to deal with seasonal changes to reconfigure the car for cold or warm weather driving.
Guess I'll take another look at the details and maybe give it a go this spring when my IATs start climbing again.

Thanks bud!
I noticed that there is now a "V3" of the KC for the E55.... I'll check that out.
Oddball question: if the H/E is working against the KC anyway... What about pulling it out of the car completely and fabricating an aluminum or stainless tank to fit in that area instead? I'll be picking up a TIG welder in the next few weeks, so I will finally be able to weld those kinds of materials... And maybe a tank down ithat area could be made to hold a few gallons of extra water? It would make the plumbing a lot simpler and you could probably get away with running the factory H/E pump to move the fluid around?
Just a thought.
