Seriously the price difference between the PSS and the Hankook v12 (next best tire ??) is really quite small for a set of four (a few hundred dollars), so it really makes no sense to get anything other than the PSS in my humble opinion.

Conti DW extreme contact- sport tuned - lol along those lines is what i'm running.
In summer ofcourse. No complaints but I cannot launch in 1 gear like ppl do in PSS

I have Cont DWS and recommend them highly for rain/snow but they are not great in dry. Now that I am back in Vegas I will install PSS once these wear out.

Thanks @Toadster, I have been debating on what to get when my PSS have worn out. I have looked at all the reviews on tires lately and found out some interesting things.
PSS - Hands down the best sports tire out there #1 in almost all categories. We know on here they grip the best
#2 Conti DWS or DW (summer) - Ranks very very high on most charts and only outweighs the PSS in colder temps and snow. I think it rated slightly higher on the rain sections but not sure. It was high though. Better than the A/S 3's on the charts. I ran this on my 07 E350 sport and they were quiet, gripped in the turns, and rain/snow were great. I just wasn't sure how they would do on a AMG grip wise. A friend swears by them on his Cayenne Turbo especially in the snow.
#3 Hankook's new version V12 Evo 2 seem to rank very high. Quiet, good in dry/wet, okay barely in snow and longer life. I ran these originally on my older E63 and they did grip well, quiet and after 14k miles still had tread on the rear. The sidewalls are more vertical than rounded, and are STIFF as can be. So no tire roll. Seemed great but not as smooth as the PSS. Pending price difference within $200 go with PSS. If you wear them out for the rears less than 8k miles then this tire might be a good choice.
#4 A/S 3's typically ranked under these other tires. Was surprised about that but snow they were not great, wet not as high and dry not as high. Quiet comfortable ride as Michelins always are though. Price is around the PSS prices. I have used these on a 750iL, Maserati Quattroporte and a Bentley CGT. All were quiet comfortable rides, CGT gripped well but it is a all wheel drive car. All are heavy cars too. Higher Speeds in the rain on i-95 they all seemed just fine and didnt hydroplane in the puddles as much as other tires.
I think my next ones if I can get through the winter without snow in DC will be PSS too. If I have to go through a full winter in DC I will either have a spare set of wheels (I have 18's 8 and 8.5 wide 07 E350 10 spokes spares) will put Conti DWS on the spares for winter and run pSS for all other months.
Hope this helps you guys out more, been thinking about this subject for months now.

I've installed the Hankook V12 Evo's as my last 3 sets. Prior to the V12's, I had the Nitto Invo, and prior to that I had the PS2's.
I was very happy with the Invo's, especially in wet weather. I felt very safe and comfortable with that tire driving through puddles. However, at the rate our car eats tires, it just wasn't feasible to continue buying Invo's once (sometimes twice) a year.
The EVO V12's have been a good middle point, for me at least. They're still quiet, and grip fairly well.
Just my two pennies.

+1 on the Pilot Sport A/S 3 - Switched in the fall from PZERO Rossso's (had 2.5 sets) as I don't think I was getting good wear for the high price. I had run A/S 3's on my BMW for a long time (7 years I think) and they had always been super impressive. The ride on the E55 was great - my only regret is not doing it sooner.
From a standstill mashing on the pedal I get a chirp, peel but otherwise do not lose traction might have to do with the wider rears I put on (R 275/30/19).... Anyway great tire!
Edit: I do not drive in the winter and would classify this as a 3 season tire for those up north.
