Keyless Go T-Shoot

I recently picked up an '06 E55. It has the keyless Go and it works to start the car, but the outside unlocking does not work. The previous owner said something about the Fobs not being the right ones but he also didn't know. Does anyone know if there is more than one FOB or is it simply a programming issue?

Any helpful advice appreciated.

Common issue for the door buttons to stop working. Do any of the doors work?

yes, are you talking about the doors or the FOB not working?

Meaning the buttons? Don't think so. Remote lock/unlock works from the FOB. Is there a schematic of the system online somewhere?

He is asking whether any of the doors lock/unlock by touching? if so, then the sensor on the door handle has gone bad and needs replacing. this is a common issue with these cars and is an easy fix.

Also suggest checking the Key Fob batteries. They might need replacing if they've never been replaced before; mine was low and I just replaced recently (2006, 54K miles, second owner).

ok. yes. check each door handle and see if they work. There is no universal wire that will make them all work. My car has one rear that will lock/unlock the car and my passenger door will only unlock. I am not worried about replacing them since they go out so frequently...but that is me.

Interesting. The only button that I found works is the RR passenger door for unlock. None of the others work. Is it a contact issue that might be fixed with electrical contact cleaner? How hard to replace? If I did, I would only do the drivers door. Going to pick up batteries also as I just started getting the key fob battery low message on the dash today.

The buttons inside the door handle end up getting corroded. There's really no fix for them, there's a thread around where someone took apart the handle. The problem is finding a replacement button that will work. If you read the DIY thread, some say 1/2 hour, some say 5 minutes once you know what you're doing. Online, they range from $175-$225 depending on the color of the car. Just had my handles replaced a few months ago and now one of them is a bit intermittent.
