I've run R1's stuff on older cars of mine. Regular DD type cars, not a performance car like the E55. That being said, never had an issue in my limited experience.

IslandS62,
I apologize for the late reply back to your response. In regards to answering your question of the origin of our brake rotors. Depending on the make and model of the vehicle as well as the part numbers is where our blanks originate from. We source our rotors here in the U.S, Italy, Asia, as well as up north in Canada. Not all of our rotors are manufactured here in the U.S. As for your particular Mercedes model, these are sourced from a manufacture in Italy. All of these rotors are required to meet QS and ISO quality system standards and also the required to meet the standards and specific features of our E-line and Premier Series rotors. However for the machining process, we actually do all the machining here in house in La Habra, CA. We are in complete control of the entire machining process and drill between each vane structure to ensure we do not damage the rotors.
For example, some of the Mercedes rotors are directional. If a customer wanted drilled & slotted and the internal vane structure of the rotor did not allow us to do this type of drilling pattern, then we can’t since we would hit the vanes which would then damage the rotor. Each rotor does go through a quality control process before it is shipped out. This is to ensure that you’re getting a quality rotor instead of having the machining process done elsewhere. Hope this helps to answer your question. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM or contact us here at R1 Concepts.

All of our rotor are all OEM spec and direct fit. They weigh the same as the OEM rotors.
