DEPO E63 AMG style headlights

Does anyone have any experience with DEPO headlights for the W211? They sell cheap on eBay and they're the facelift look. The question is, are they any good and also, do they look exactly like the OEM Hellas?

Pretty much, I replace my bi-xenons with the depo ones because they were fogging up pretty badly.
Looks good and better light output than my old ones that were all hazed up.
The slated turn signals gives it a updated look.
The shop installed it for me while they are working on the e63 bumpers said it was a direct plug and play, perfect fitment.

I have them with custom HID Bi-Xenon projectors. I love them. Quality is great.

Can you take the inside chrome and the outside cover and move them over to the OEM housing without any issues?

I would assume the footprint is the same inside. I can't confirm though.

Are they identical in look or just close to OEM facelift?

Im debating whether to buy the DEPO's too however it says they dont work with Adaptive Headlights. Im okay with the adaptive not working, but it says they actually have completely different plugs so the entire headlight may not work.

I have adaptive as well which is why I was looking to just swap the inner chrome pieces and the new cover.

If someone could confirm that:
1 - The new outside clear housing lens will bake open and swap from facelift Eagle Eye or DEPO housing to prefacelift OEM housing
2 - The complete facelift chrome plastic shrouds and turn signal, etc can be swapped from facelift Eagle Eye or DEPO housing to prefacelift OEM housing.
2 - The OEM Bi-xenon projector lens can be swapped to ZKW-R, Eagle Eye, or DEPO projector lens. (3" OD I think)
3 - The OEM Bi-Xenon projector can be swapped to EVOX-R Bi-xenon projectors.

If these 4 things are able to be swapped with little to no modification then this should be a no brainer for us guys looking to go facelift but keep all OEM features.

1 and 2- according to the link I posted answering my own exact same ? indicates yes it can swap over. The chrome needs some tab glued in.

3 - I swapped my lenses out years ago to the ZKW-R

4 - I am unsure of.

Why not just have your OE lenses refinished ? Obviously not an option if you are looking for the E63 look, but otherwise they can be refinished to look new.

Well you just said it. It's not like the E63s.

Hazing will come back....its not a long term option.

I will be doing a complete retrofit in the near future and I will try and take pictures / post a DIY for you guys.

If any body has some OEM headlights sitting around I would be happy to open them up and modify them to E63's with EVO XR projectors. See if the Depo internals will work. I am going to buy another set of the E63 Depo's for some custom work and may as well see what's what.

Edit: I should have the E63's by Friday. I'll take some detailed photo's of the inside. Here are the ones that I have from the last projector swap.

Did mine 4+ years ago, no issues here. Also several dozen clients with the same, long term, results. Doing it right is what makes all the difference.

I understand most think they are "Billy Mays" with restoring headlights. One of my biggest clients is the Southeast Master Installer for Ceramic Pro Americas; headlight restoration isn't anything new to anyone.

My point is that even though you can polish and seal the lens, some sort of hazing will eventually come back. Please also keep in mind that some of us live in South Florida where our cars see sunlight almost daily.

Furthermore this is not the point of attention in this thread anyway lol.

Mine came in. Time to open them up and get to work

Using the high beam compartment as a intake hole, retrofitting projectors and custom lens and a few led bits in them as well.

And just to confirm, these are OEM Halogen, Bi-xenon or DEPO Halogen, or Bi-xenon??

They are Depo Halogen and will be converted into non-OEM Bi-Xenon HID.

Ah, good deal. The only reason I want to use the OEM base rather than the DEPO or other is simply because I dont want to lose the adaptive feature.

I look forward to seeing your results with this though. If at all possible, see if there would be any way to retrofit the adaptive housing & OEM ballast into the DEPO unit.

I'll take detailed pictures of the inside for you. The housings are cheap. I think they were $183 shipped. I'm fairly confident they will swap over. The internals have a lot of space for additional items

Where did you find them for $183ish shipped?....eBay seems to be around the $200 even mark. I could honestly get a pair of Eagle Eyes for like $100 but I feel like those might be playing with fire lol.

Thanks again.

Ha...well I just checked the housings. I thought I bought Depo's. I have Eagle Eyes LOL. I have Depo's on the car. I can compare both now. I'm using these to chop up and do experimental stuff with. Depo or Eagle Eye, they are getting cut up. Quality seemed decent for the 30 seconds I looked at them.
