08 E63 HID bi Xenon help!
Does any1 have the passenger side entire headlight unit for sale for a 08 E63?
Mine went Sunday, and my mechanic said the entire unit needs to be replaced.
I am looking for a site with a decent price to buy new (dealer wants $1,320.00) or if a member may have one for sale?
I am about to pull the trigger with my mechanic for $980.00 have not found anything factory for cheaper really anywhere.
thanks for the help in advance guys!

What exactly is wrong with it? I think there's a bunch of threads on here about fixing bad headlights, like the ballast going and so on.
Anyway, try huskerparts.com, I think it's $772.

You can also try ebay, but I think the really cheap ones don't have active curve illumination and your car probably has that. There's also one on Amazon for $729+42 shipping.
There's also the junkyard too, try car-part.com. They seem to range from $500-$700+
Rockauto also carries them but it doesn't come with the ballast. Around $167, don't think it's OEM at that price.

Is the low beam bulb out? Start the car while somebody is looking at the projector. If it moves the ballast or bulb is out and can be replaced fairly cheaply. A total failure is the projector has sheared off the mounting points, burned due to fire, or explosion. A headlight housing/unit doesn't just "die" lol.
Ask your mechanic if he actually confirmed a plastic housing with a lightbulb in it totally failed or just didn't want to diagnose it and wants to charge you too much money.

It was completely melted inside the housing and broken, He is saying that the ballast went and it was not moving at start up, That is what I was not totally sure of, if he was just bot diagnosing it correctly.

Where did you get the DS1? There's a lot of fakes out there although usually the fakes just flicker. I think the MB part comes with everything, the ballast and the bulb. I think you're also supposed to replace bulbs in pairs, otherwise one will be a little brighter than the other. I think if you get the rockauto part, you'd have to get the ballast too although you already have a bulb so you won't need that. They have that for $195. There's also a 5% discount code for rockauto at retailmenot.
