W211 E63 Wagon
iPhone/iPod issues
I apologize if this has been covered before, but I searched up and down the forums with little help and my local MB dealer wasn't able to help.
I have a 'new to me' E63 wagon with what appears to be a factory 30 pin iPod cable. When using either the 30 pin or 30 pin to Lightning adapter I get the same results.
The iPhone charges and the song title displays on the dash and I'm able to advance songs and playlists but no sound comes through. Neither the MB salesman nor tech were able to figure it out.
Any suggestions?

Most likely the 30 pin harness on the car. There are 2 different types depending on the 30 pin style. I have changed many over the years. The parts dept may have a hard time looking up the part number but it is available separately from the "iPod kit". If they open a kit the pn for the harness will be on the bag that the harness is in. What year is your car? 09's have a different command system using different components.
