Looking to Buy 2003 Amg, Comments

Looking to and have selected a 2003 E55 amg. It has 144k miles on it, but I'm 20 yr old student and have always loved this car. Its within my cash price range but I will not have a ton more for repairs. Looking through carfax, it seems regular maintenance has been done. Any suggestions on reliability for this car with upper mileage like this? Anything to look for before pulling the trigger? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Maintenance is the most important thing. Check the maintenance log book for the car. How many owners? How does it run? Is it modded? Also use the search function. These cars can run up a bill fast. I have had mine 7 months and have had no problems at all. Rear drops after a few days occasionally. It's not my daily driver. I rotate 4 cars. When you drive it take it out for a while. Make sure it runs smooth and strong. Make sure you can't smell gas. When you lay into it it,should feel like a smooth jet. And if you can drive it on grass at low speed and listen for front end rattles. For some reason you can hear and feel everything on grass.lol
Also do a search there are a lot of posts like this

Thank you! I will be sure to get my hands on a maintenance log! What do you mean by the rear drops?

They have airmatic suspension. Ran by air. It's the number one problem overall.

My car is for sale on eBay.

Runs great. Has been my daily driver for 2 years. All fluids have been flushed except the brake fluid. I maintain the car and it is great running condition with some mods too! My fiance and I just need a bigger vehicle.
