Kill story: v10 m5
I've got another one to share with you guys. So tonight I got the cls55 back on the road after being parked for a week due to a bad alternator and got lucky enough to have a run in with a well matched opponent.
I was headed home from a friends place in south Tampa and was crossing a local land bridge across the bay (where all the fun happens). I'm rolling along with the sunroof back and music up when I hear a pretty loud exhaust so I sped up to investigate and came across a debadged white m5 of the v10 variety. It was a good looking car, lowered on some black wheels with white tire bombs and carbon fiber canards on the front bumper and I think an aftermarket rear diffuser and a loud exhaust.
So I pull up next to him and downshift into 3rd going about 65. He didn't react so I gave a bit of a lunge on the throttle at which point I heard him downshift so I dropped it to 2nd and slowed to around 4K. We both punch it, the 55 jumps ahead immediately and pulled out to my rear bumper about 10ft in front of his front bumper and stayed there till we shut it down around 120 due to traffic.
Run 2 we line up and again in in 2nd around 3.5-4K. I give three honks and we go. I jump ahead again but as soon as I do he starts flashing his high beams so I slowed it down and we lined up again.
Run 3 I get back to 2nd at 4K and do the three honks and the results end up exactly the same as the first run.
When we got to the end of the bridge we hit a red light and exchanged compliments about each other's cars and turned our separate ways. So overall they were good runs and the bimmer guys were cool about it but I would have liked to have less traffic/more space to get to some higher speeds.
Anybody else have any experience with the v10 m5s?

I ran my buddy's FBO V10 M5 this summer and he was able to pull me....
Thing is a top end monster. All I had was a tune and a much heavier passenger.
I want to re-run him now that I have brand new fuel pumps and my pulley goes in next week...
Stock for stock, the 55 will take it everytime.

E60 M5's are extremely quick and nimble. I owned one for about a year and fell in love with it. I miss it and wish I still had it. The 55K's are certainly faster in a straight line but in the corners the E60 will walk away from the 55K's. I found the E60 a better "drivers" car but the 55K a better "driving" car.

Exactly my thoughts.
Had A LOT of seat time in my old E60 M5 and it definitely is more nimble and fun to drive spiritedly.
I find the E55 is a better daily, though.
With the M5, you had to be in high revs to have any power at all, it drank oil and gas like crazy. Amazing car, just not the best daily...
Still one of my favorite cars ever.

Good runs!
When I had a Eurocharged stage3 I would play with my friends fully modded M5. I would kill him every time from a dig but the 100+mph runs he would stay at my rear. He never won though
