Failed Eurocharged Reflash HELP!!!
I'm in Australia so am unable to contact Eurocharged for another 10 or 11 hours. As can be seen from the dialogue box below instructions are to not key the vehicle off if the re-flash was not successful.
So the reflash process seemed to go to plan but after the process had finished at 100% a message came up informing me if the re-flash wasnt accepted then the ecu would be bricked if the vehicle was keyed off:
I tried to re-flash and was told the ecu is in recovery mode and suggested I reflash the stock file to recover.
The next screen told me a failure had occurred!
I did check for errors first and nothing of consequence came up considering the motor has just been built and installed.
It did drain a lot of power as tuning does and "Battery convenience functions disabled" came up even though a charger was connected. I'm unsure if it was connected correctly as it showed 0 volts until we reconnected?
Please someone tell me if I can key off or at least turn from position 2 (ignition) back to position 1 (accessories) while I wait overnight to speak to Eurocharged? It is currently 4.15pm here in Australia. Or does anyone have any suggestions...?

yea you're gonna have to ship them the ECU. The advice to disconnect the fan saves a ton of power. the connector for it is to the drivers side of the fan. you need to connect the batter charger to the battery in the trunk and not the starter battery. i found this information out the hard way on my SL55

No the software immediately informed me a failure had occurred.
I'll have a word to Eurocharged in the morning and then determine the plan of attack. I don't own a second vehicle as cars in Australia are about 250% pricier than in the US. A mate did loan me a spare car for a few months but I was silly enough to allow another friend to use it without realizing he had no license. Naturally he was pulled over and the car impounded leaving me without transport again...
Yeah I disconnected the fan as it was going flat-chat and obviously using excessive power.
No substitute for experience!
Also Chris (latemodel21) offered me some excellent advice via PM including the ominous "missing packets" reference which has come up EVERY time he has flashed his AMG's.

I reflashed back to stock tune then back to performance tune and all was well in the end. Phil at Eurocharged was ready and waiting to remotely tune if necessary although in the end that wasn't required.
