W211 E55 AMG Alternator failur
Ok so my e55 amg alternator stopped charging, the dash lighted up as red as the devil with the battery logo.
So you gonna unplug the battery,remove serpenti belt,remove both bolts holding the alternator, remove the 10mm nut holding the hot wire, remove plastic plug, remove and move aside all water hoses that get on the way, losen the radiator core support pull it to make space and pull the alternator out about 2hr job. And there 160 for new alternator at o rally.😥
Just in case you haven't checked. The double pulley from MB is around $500 or so and sold as a set. Most available online I've seen were sold as a set even if you just need to replace the rear plastic one.
I just bought 2 sets from Shardul (UPD) for my car and my sons.
