M156 to Tremec manual transmission adapter plate
Hey guys. Does anyone want/need a bellhousing adapter plate that will mate an M156 to a Tremec Magnum (TR6060) 6-speed manual gearbox? GM bolt pattern.
I'm commissioning one to be made for personal use, and it's no more work to have additional ones made at the same time. The adapter plate will be very similar to the one below, except with two additional holes at the bottom for the Magnum bellhousing. It's a CNC'd part that's a bit less than an inch thick, and it suits the front-sump M156 (not the rear sump one though).
It won't be cheap. But the price will depend on how many adapter plates are made (more is better). There's no money in this for me, just figured I'd offer it out to the community for anyone that wants to do a manual conversion.
PM me if you're interested.

For sure this adapter is just one piece of the manual conversion puzzle, but as anyone whose does this kind of stuff knows, it is arguably the most crucial and difficult one. I'll be swapping it into a early Benz, with a standalone, etc.
There probably won't be another run of these adapter plates (and none will be put on the shelf) so if you want one, PM me soon.

Also, somebody should verify this, but I think the M156 bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as M112/M113.
So this same adapter would work for the guys wanting to do the 55 swap!

You are looking for a 722.9 bellhousing which is totally different than a 722.6 bellhousing. I would believe it if the bolt pattern to the block is the same though but that wouldn't help you.

As long as the bolt pattern is the same to the engine block it doesn't matter if I source a bellhousing from a 722.6 or a 722.9. I've compared some pictures on eBay now and from the looks of it, the bolt pattern seems to be the same on both but I need someone to verify it.

Double check in epc but I looked a few months ago and found a compatible bellhousing from a 722.6. I have a project on the to do list that involves an m156 and a 722.6. So I was looking into it. I think all the late model v6-v8s are the same.

The adapter is confirmed to fit M156 and M112/M113, and it appears that M272/M273, M278/M157 also share this same bellhousing bolt pattern too. Along with the V12s above, it seems.
I'm getting close to a point where I'll need to know how many to make. PM now if you're interested.

That guy Tarvish or whatever his name is on YouTube is putting a manual into his SL55, if this does work on the M113k you should contact him and I bet he will take one.

Hey guys. These are available now. Mine was a one-off but I made sure that additional plates can be made too for those interested.

Little Thread bump but Syvecs just came out with a standalone for the c63, perhaps that would ease the pain with the electronics issue with the swap?
