S55 guy with tuning questions

Hi guys! I'm positing this in the E55 section because I've noticed whenever these are posted in the S55 area the response is, invariably "check with the E55 guys".

I have an 05 S55 and am about to pull the trigger on the following upgrades:

Resonator delete and Xpipe
weistec power package 2
82mm throttle body

My question is, any feedback on the Weistec upgrade? Comparisons favorable or unfavorable to Kleenman, Renntech .. or basically the same results with different names?

I really look forward to your feedback since these are not inexpensive upgrades. As Ricky Bobby said, "we go together like cocaine and waffles" .. no, wait, I mean: "I want to go fast"

Since you mentioned the "yayo", let me give my 3.5g on the matter.

Go with a SC pulley, say a 77mm, slap it on along with a 82mm TB, tune. You dont need to spend 3800 on parts. Cost cant be more than 1500 installed. The S55 has 2 heat exchangers. Just PM Shardul, he can get his hands on a nice HE that replaces the second smaller unit in your S55 along with the parts you need.

Hmmm, so kustome2k1, you're saying no ECU or TCU tune? I'd heard those were impactful. And no 170mm modular crank damper .. The throttle body seems to run like $1,200 itself and was next step for me.

Here's a link to what Weistec stage 2 includes. If I don't need most of this that's important to know for me. I don't mind spending $$ but not stupidly.

"Go with a SC pulley, say a 77mm, slap it on along with a 82mm TB, tune."

I mentioned tune in my first sentence. No one pays 1200 for an 82mm TB, those days are gone. Like I said, contact Shardul. He can put a package together for you with his resources.

If not, shop around in the for sale section, all the parts you need can be had cheap. Go with TB, pulley and tune. Mercedes equipped the S55 with a big heat exchanger along with a smaller one that work quit well. So, no need to spend money in that regard.

A person would have to be out of their mind to spend nearly 4k on a pulley, tune, HE, pump and spark plugs. TCU is horseshhhhit. Waste of money.

Update:

Have been PM'ing Shardul, he seems to be OK with the Weistec upgrades and is looking into the TB for me. Pricing doesn't seem to be off and it doesn't seem like they're unnecessary upgrades, and/or he has no recommendations on a cheaper upgrade with the same/similar results.

Looking forward to some more power ..

Weistec is a very well respected vendor, and have top quality parts. You will be very happy with the upgrades, pricing is higher than most, but then again so is their quality.
