Air filters

Guys with upgrades do u keep the factory filters on or i dont know if u would call it an upgrade but K&N filters?
Im asking because i own a diesel and have read that K&N acually suck and let to much particals in which were not good for the ford 6.0 motors.
So assuming the same would go for our benz. Is any1 using anything different and also am i ok with using the factory air system with my bolt ins full exhaust, tune, pully, intercooler and pump upgrade. Thanks

I'm not a K&N fan either, if they do flow better what is the gain really? A few Hps maybe and the trade off is poorer filtration and oil that can fowl up a throttle body sensor. I know they have their following but I don't see a good risk reward here.

Mercedes CLS 55 AMG
Just buy OEM Mann filters and change them more often.
