Garage Door Opener No Worky!
I just got my 2003 E55 on Tuesday of last week and have been enjoying the beast ever since. However, my Homlink Garage Door Opener buttons do not work. I have programmed my garage doors on a number of other Mercedes-Benz cars but this one won't work (and I konw it's not user error).
Has anyone else ever had the unit stop working (it doesn't "learn" the signal I send to it). I'm taking it in to the shop to hopefully get a new unit in the car.

Be sure you are not parked inside your garage too. May cause interference. I had this problem and when I called TeleAid, they had me park on the driveway and then I was able to program my car.

Already called the 800 number and talked with them. They don't know what's wrong either. Did you guys not listen to my first post? I have programmed this garage door to a number of other Mercedes-Benz cars. It's not me, it's the stupid unit in the car.

Perhaps to see if anyone else has experienced this problem.
I think I may have to get new controllers for my garage door opener. The ones in the car work fine, but the ones that came with the opener don't anymore.
I guess I shouldn't have left them in my pockets which my jeans went through the clothes-washer and dryer.

You stated that it wasn't working for you.
Having had the same problem, I read it looking for an answer.
e55norm recommended the 800 number since it worked for him. (I hadn't noticed the 800 number so this may be the fix for me.)
Nickerz mentioned you may want to be out of the garage for interference reasons because that worked for him. (I hadn't tried it outside the garage so this too may be of service to me.)
Then you come back with a smart a** response asking if they had properly read your first post. 2 guys offer help and you insinuate that something is wrong with their reading/comprehension because their answers didn't work for you. Believe it or not "show me state" boy, it ain't all about you.
It may be true that I ( and the other responders to your inquiry) somehow looked stupid for not knowing exactly what you were looking for but based on this thread, you're an a**hole.

I had trouble programming mine. Took it to the dealer, they programmed it to the middle button, some how the left button didn't read my garage remote.

I'm guessing it's probably just a few wires loose. Might be a harness that's slipped up, don't worry about it. If it comes to it, you'll need a new rear view mirror. Minor stuff.

Something worth trying before seeing the dealer, clearing the memory pressing left and right buttons together?
I had a defective garage opener unit in an Audi, it would stop working when it's very hot outside, had it swapped everything works well.
My past experience with MB garage openers had been great, no problems whatsoever.
