I'd surmise that chief among them are: 1) he can't drive for ****; 2) his car isn't capable of pulling anything close to a 12.6, and he damn well knows it; 3) he doesn't want to get caught on video proving 1) and 2), and end up looking any more stupid than he has already.

I don't want my first run of my life at a track to be taped and broadcasted for the whole world to see. Being at the track for the first time is enough pressure, never mind the video cameras and all the other BS. By the way, I never claimed to beat an E55. I claimed to beat a CL55. Everyone of you that I have talked to has agreed with me that the E55 is clearly faster than the CL55.

What is the difference between the track and the street? The whole premise of your story was that you got such a great launch. The only difference between the track and the street is:

a) At the track you have a much better idea when the light will change
b) At the track you get a time slip
c) Plus it's safe, legal blah blah blah...

No one has to tape you...

Dude, it's obvious to all of us that you were talking sh*t in the first place, and never ran any supercharged Benz like you're claiming.

And I don't care what the opinions of people who haven't run the two cars directly are: I've shown that in magazine tests, the CL55, SL55, and E55 are all within a tenth or two of one another--and a tenth or two won't allow you to run dead even with one until 110 when the other will bend you over and make you it's biiitch.

Finally, you claimed more than one thing here and on the Bimmer forums: you claimed to have beaten a CL55, a Turbo Porsche in three rolling start runs from 20-80, a Cadillac CTS-V, and that your car can run a 12.6 1/4 mile.

But despite repeated promises to go to the track, you won't, even when I offered you $500 per run!!!. This makes you a liar, and a pathetic one at that. End of story.

He CAN beat a CL55, provided the AMG was in "C" mode, which starts the car in 2nd gear, other than that....

weird.. my sig isnt showing up... take your pick: modded 04 e46 m3, stock 06 e55 amg, or stock 02 gt2. are you sure you didnt race a non-sc'd Cl55? there are two versions: one with the 350ish hp non-sc'd v8 and the one with tthe 500ish hp SC'd V8. there is a world of difference between the two.

Yea, I ran high 12s consistantly... first pass I ran a 2.0 60ft time with 13.0 @ 109mph... 2nd pass was a 1.9 60ft time with a 12.8 @109mph, 3rd pass was my best, I managed a 12.7 @ 108mph, 4th pass the car was heat soaking and I managed a 12.8 @ 107mph (loosing trap speed due to heat soak). I sat out for the 5th pass i could have made and then Made my last pass later on the evening with a 12.8 @ 109mph again. Weather was at 70 degrees Far. Too bad the left lane got shut down, it was pretty sticky if you moved a bit to the left....sooooooo much VHT on there, I doubt drag radials would have helped my launch out much, I was doing pretty good on my street tires. It was great being able to finally come out on a full set of street tires rather then bald street tires...it was even better getting to meet some of the great people from this message board. I definately had a blast... we need to do something like this again soon. The only dissapointment I had was not being able to see APK come out so I could have ran his M5.

Nice times Benzo... those are solid times for a Stage 1 car. I have my pulley set installed now... just saving for the chip.
