Wow! AMG wagons are a different breed, for sure!
Why did it take so long and why was the process so grueling?

no idea why it took so long, the whole car ordering process has always been so lame to me, not enough firm information. I think that the dealer was dithering around in the beginning with getting an allocation, but didn't make that clear to me and I thought the thing was already 'ordered.' I kept getting back that "AMG cars are built in a separate facility and take longer" which was kind of crap, even if technically true. I finally threatened to take my deposit elsewhere, and lo and behold was told it was being loaded on a ship. It's just weird that there's no 'tracking number' with the process.

One thing I was pleasantly surprised by on the car: I'm very glad I didn't order the optional forged split spoke AMG wheels. They are lighter etc., but I think the stock 10 spokers look better, and set the car further apart from non-AMG cars that have the 'sport' package. Besides, I'd like to get aftermarket wheels at some point, so didn't think it was wise to spend extra up front

isamubenz, beautiful car, good luck with it. Go over to the w212 amg forum and search for "VIC", he has a white e63 wagon all done up which is just sick looking(nicest wagon I have ever seen). Maybe He could help out with your future mods. Just do a search over there and his wagon should come up.

thanks for the reminder on posting on the AMG section, and on rechecking out Vic's wagon, that thing was definitely helping me get through those five months!
I totally agree on the flat badge and stock grille, at least for now... will post pics when I do that minor mod |

Can't believe I'm saying this but, wow, that is one wild wagon! Did I really just say that?!
![]() Congratulations and many miles of enjoyment. And maybe a few surprises for some unsuspecting would-be challengers pulling up beside you. Not that I would ever suggest you do that! II.

have always wanted a mad mad german wagon, and Audi never brought their RS wagons state-side, so I figured I better grab this thing before MB realizes no one sells a car like this to the Americans! Maybe I'm just peculiar, but I love the fact that it's a wagon and it's an E63, no one suspects... the de-badging just takes it that extra notch.

I liked the W210 E55 where you really couldn't tell much difference aside from the badges and wheels. A true sleeper though no wagon back then...
