Brand New 2014 E63 Broke Down

Bought a brand new 2014 E63 AMG yesterday. It broke down today. After starting the car in garage, all malfunction lights were on, blinking in red and yellow, like a Christmas tree. Steering wheel, SRS, lane change assist ..... basically everything, were "inoperative", "malfunction".

Indicator also showed in red "don't shift gear, see dealer". Tried a few times to turn engine off. Restarted engine, same thing happened.

Roadside assistance took the car to a local dealer. Wait for result tomorrow.

What, the e63 is not perfect?? I kid because some on this forum feel that it is... It's not and I'm sorry for your troubles

I feel your pain, I really do... The dealer will make this right and if not enlist Mbusa in your issue. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get your investment back in 100% working order

And PLEASE come back on and tell is the resolution of your issues... Otherwise this thread becomes useless and can't help future owners out

Thank you all for your comments. To answer your questions, i'm in Texas, it's not a S model, and the test drive on first day was perfect. It just broke down next day for apparently no reason.

It seems like someone else reported a problem very similar to this right after delivery. Maybe back in Nov/Dec?
I didn't find the thread in a quick search. Am I imagining that? Car died. Gave similar warnings, had to be towed to the dealer. Might have been a bad module of some sort.

Dealer called saying a module controlling multiple critical functions went bad. Parts will be ordered and it will be days before they get here. Also contacted MBUSA, has not heard anything from them yet. Never thought a $100K new car didn't even last 24 hours before breaking down. It may be a record. Again, thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

With all the electronics on this car it's not surprising some of it goes sour once in a while. The fact it broke down right away probably means it was bad from the start. New module and you should be fine to enjoy the beast!

I finished break in this weekend and did first race start... this car is just insane don't give up on it yet!

New module and you should be fine... Sorry you're experiencing this. I've learned from friends with new even more expensive cars price makes no difference ... $h1t breaks down

My friends sls amg black was in the shop for weeks with a bad trans shift sensor after only 1000 miles ... All dash lights lit up

Also my friends Infiniti g37x needed a new engine under warranty after 10k miles... Stuff happens

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Hopefully you will be back on the road soon. I wonder how much the repair would be without warranty.

Yes, ***** happens,
Rear diff on my 2013 Viper went bad after only 2,500 miles. Dealer put a new one in under warranty. Wonder how something like this could happen ?

Thank you all again for your comments.

Just an update. Dealer installed new control module, and they can shut shown the car now, but other malfunctions are still there. They had difficulties to shut down the car before, and the tow trucker and I also tried numerous times to shut the car down on the day it was towed to dealer. That's the only progress so far.

Dealer said it will keep in touch with Mercedes and try to solve the problems, but need more days.

It was a brand new E63 and it only lasted a day before breaking down. Anyone else has been in similar situations and what options do I have now? I'll contact Mercedes USA again and request a buy back if the dealer tried it again but cannot fix the problems. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Buyback... 100% agreed...Mbusa shouldn't give you any hard times but it'll take a couple months of back and forth phone calls

Some will definitely disagree and they think you should go down with this 100k ship, but part of the ownership experience of a $100k car or any priced car for that matter is not having these types of issues from the get go. You deserve a fresh start and the dealer should really advocate for you here too

Dealer said the engine harness went bad too and had it repaired. Also replaced a control module. Malfunction lights are off and it seems to drive normal now. Glad to have it back after driving a C250 loan car for a week. Hope it won't break down again any time soon. Thank you all for your posts.

I wish you nothing but great luck and safe driving in your 'E. Let's hope that all your troubles are now behind you, just a few bad parts, that's all -- now time to start driving and enjoying it.
