Best Tuners for E63 (5.5 Bi-Turbo)

Hi, was wondering who the best tuners are for the E63. Coming from a C63, the best tuners were Eurocharged and OE.

Ive looked into Renntech and Weistec so far.

I simply would like to change filters, maybe change downpipes and tune.

Thanks.

On the past I have used ECU Tuning and has been very good . ( on a P TT)
In regards to Eurocharged, I decided to try them for the Hp and TQ gains they claim.

Let's see..
Hopefully someone with past experiences with them can chime in...
It would be good for comments and confirmation on HP obtained.

From what I've heard Eurocharged is pretty good and a lot less $$$ than most of the others.

The power gains claimed by Renntech and AMS, especially in torque, are considerably greater than those claimed by Eurocharged.

AMS has done amazing things with GTRs and is producing some killer 1/4 and 1/2 times with its E63 tune.

Renntech, to me, is the gold standard of US AMG tuners. It has been in business for decades and MB uses the company to build some of its show cars. The owner was a former long time AMG engineer and you rarely hear about customer complaints with their tunes.

But I have no issue with Eurocharged and I know plenty of AMG owners happy with their tunes.

AHI, Any problems with warrantee service at the dealer after the Eurocharged tune, I wonder if they notice it has a tune and can it mess with the warrantee?

I remember hearing someone on this forum got a Renntech tune from a Mercedes dealer and they agreed to honor the factory warrantee. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Renntech?

2016 AMG GTS Edition 1 Renntech
I can. Renntech has authorized MB dealers that will still honor the factory warranty if there are any issues. That is why I am planning on getting my Renntech goodies from the MB dealer in Kansas City even though I live 5 hrs away in Tulsa, OK. My local dealer in Tulsa will void out any service warranty if they find out I have a aftermarket tune...oh well.

I would check the Renntech website and see if you have a authorized MB - renntech dealer near you.

My nearest Renntech MB dealer is 200 miles away and the only thing holding me up is the two or three night hotel stay while they R&R the ECU with round trip overnight shipping. Just need to pull the trigger I guess.

Are you sure? That is not my understanding. My understanding is that MB makes the final decision on warranty claims and not the dealer. Of course under federal law the manufacturer cannot refuse a warranty repair unless it can prove that the condition needing repair was actually caused by an aftermarket modification.

Renntech itself provides a limited warranty for the parts it installs but when I read the warranty on their website it does not extend to consequential/resultant damages to other parts (I am not aware of any Mercedes tuner that warranties consequential damages or matches the length of the factory warranty -- to my knowledge the only tuner which does that is Dinan which of course is a BMW tuner). If I bought a Renntech tune or part and it caused a malfunction which MB refused to repair under warranty I would definitely call Renntech and see what they would do. The owner has a strong reputation for customer service.

Just because a dealer sells and installs a mod does not make the manufacturer obligated to make a warranty repair to damage caused by the mod.

Thanks for the love guys!

Some of the high points on our tuning!

We don't have the same mercedes tax added to our products! Check out our recent thread on sales prices, it will knock your socks off! $1499!!! plus shipping

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...tober-ale.html

We have one of the best motor protection warranties in the business in which we cover the engine up to $50,000!

http://www.eurocharged.com/about/warranty

We don't charge for retunes (only pay shipping) so when you add your downpipes etc you are covered!

Yes we are not pushing as hard on the tune and play it a little safer (personal choice), but also are not experiencing issues that others have seen to be having with plugs etc.

For those that believe that renntech does not void your warranty, I would suggest looking at this post from the private lounge...

http://www.mercedes-amg.com/privatel...63-ECU-upgrade

rest assured all tuners mentioned here are top notch and can easily transform your car into a monster!!!

Anyone who mods any car through any tuner at any dealer runs a risk of voiding at least part of their warranty coverage. Period.

In regards to tuners, where are you located? Going with someone close is always a good idea. As is opting for a dyno tune over a can tune.
Good luck. She is a beast!

From what I heard Brabus and Renntech are the only companies where MB will allow work to be done w/o any issues about the warranty being void

I found this post that might help out, it seems it depends on how you buy the car or where you get the work done, some people mentioned the dealership that does kleeman/renntech mods pays for any mishaps but not MB themselves

MB voided warranty on my SL65 that was Renntech tuned at my MB dealer.
They voided it based on the statement from a big mouth (new guy at dealership) service advisor.
The idiot bragged about my power gains to a visiting MB rep.....

Wow!! There you go, did they warranty it before that mishap or was it the first time you brought it in with the tune?

See... People always bring up magnussen-moss and blah blah... It's up to the dealer/company and chances are they will void your warranty

Tune your car if you want to and can afford any mishaps that occur afterwards

No one can just void your warranty. Take them to court. They have to prove the damage was caused by your modification and it would only void the particular part that failed, that is, if they prevailed in court and could prove the tune caused the damages.

The scary thing to me is if something major does go wrong like say a turbo and you take it to the dealer all they got to do is look for the tune, find it, send a snapshot to benz and then void your warrantee and you get stuck paying 5 to 10 grand or whatever for the repair. I payed good money for the extended warrantee, I'd hate to negate that.

Yes, apparently they can.

That process takes months and months and an investment of legal fees you may not get compensated for. I've been through a buyback twice and it took 8 months and was not fun. I don't have time to take someone to court on an issue like this ... Best part I'll never have to as I'll never tune my car

It's always interesting to see peoples' replies on this topic.
