FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Any factory warranty left on that vehicle? Pretty common for the ownesr to hop out of the cars right before the end of the the factory warranty, especially with mileage like that.

Damnit you're right. The warranty ended a month before I purschase it. I got in late Feb. Warranty ended mid January 2015. So the repairs actually cost $9100. I think at this point I'm going to just have to go with them. Can't just leave the car out looking like a shell.

I would repair and then unload it and move on depending on its value ... It'll keep costing you

Never own an amg out of warranty

I would definitely keep it if you pay to fix it. Afterwards it will have updated headbolts, lifters and new cams. Basically all of the common and expensive parts replaced that can break in the future for the M156. It should be very reliable after that ignoring the airmatic.

With a fully ruined engine I think the hit on the car value will be more than the $9100 repair. You can't even start the engine.

First I gotta say that this is a true bummer man. I feel for you. It sucks.

As a former mechanic, a lifetime ago, and having built a few engines from ground up, I am a bit shocked to hear "bent valves" on a top performing AMG. THIS IS WRONG !!

If you are not aware, the bent valves will likey wear down the cam lobes as the tech also reported.

Just dont know how you could have bent valves my man. Weird

Only thing I can say is maybe beg, scream, and kick, with MBUSA for some goodwill help considering the car's young age.

Again, this is very strange. I have never personally seen a bent valve on an engine of mine and I started building them 25 years ago! The only way I even know of to cause this is if something gets sucked into the engine cylinder while it was running.

Any chance you had the intake filters or something off while it was running?

Lastly, if you get it repaired, and those valves replaced, it will require pulling off the head. When this happens you should be able to see if something got in there. I would expect to see piston damage from the piston smashing someting into the valve. There is very little clearance between the piston and valve head on these high compression motors.

Best of luck man.

Hope no one minds some general questions- If you don't yet have scored cams can you replace the lifters to prevent a problem later on? Are the updated lifters just a softer metal? I have only seen problems on the intake side, is this right?

This blanket statement is false.
It may be correct to state that YOU would never own one of these cars out of warranty.
My earlier M5 had 250000km on her, and was 10years old, still running strong.
At that time, there were others on M5 board with higher 'mileage'.
