2013 E63 resonator delete feedback.
Just had the resonator removed and installed straight pipes instead. Sounds amazing, i'm even questioning if its too loud. I'll let it settle in for a few days before making any final decisions. While i was there i struck a conversation with the guy next door who runs a tuning/performance shop. He suggested installing an X pipe rather than straight pipes to not lose any back pressure but after reading multiple threads here it seems most if not all M157's have gone with straight pipes. Driving the car home which was only a few miles i couldn't feel any loss of low end torque but i did notice some amazingly sick exhaust tones. If theres no sacrifice in performance(which i haven't noticed yet) i think this is hands down the best mod for the buck.
has anyone noticed any loss after straight pipes installed?

I recently removed my resonator and replaced it with straight pipes. And I couldn't agree more, the sound is amazing...love the bark during startup and when the car downshifts. To answer your question, I haven't noticed any power loss but I did notice the vibration from the mufflers. I took my car to three different reputable shops and they all said it's normal from the resonator delete. Does your mufflers vibrate after the delete?

One more thing, if you search the forum you'll find several threads regarding the xpipe vs straight pipe. I personally prefer the deeper sound from the straight pipes. For your reference, here is one of the threads: https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...need-help.html

What size pipe did you have installed in place of the resonator? i went with a
2-1/2", supposedly it'll help a little with the back pressure.

i let her idle for a couple minutes and didn't notice any vibration. I did however hear a windy type sound which is something i didn't hear from inside the car. Can i expect the sound to change at all in the next couple of days as the engine adapts to the exhaust? i found myself thinking its too loud more than a couple times. Is the X pipe much quieter or just a different tone? In the link you provided above the car with straight pipes is a 6.2 and the one with x pipe i'm not sure about but i think its a 5.5 and thats why it sounds different.

Thanks for getting back to me. Very strange, I'm the only one here with the muffler vibrations.
The xpipe will change the tone of the exhaust but will probably not change the sound any louder/quieter.

[QUOTE=silvers2k;6510408]Thanks for getting back to me. Very strange, I'm the only one here with the muffler vibrations.
Just picked up my car from exhaust shop and noticed my tail pipes seem to be vibrating as well. I removed the cats and res and I think the car is way to loud now for a daily driver. Also feel like it has lost some lower end torque. I'm going to put the res back on asap
