Took This Puppy Out For A Dinner
Finally took my uncle's 911 Turbo S out to dinner. While it was fun opening her up. I'm glad I didn't take delivery of it. I know now my E63 can take it any day of the week with 4 people. Not family friendly, but it's fun.
Invited my buddy to dinner and asked him to take my E63 because he didn't believe my E63 can win a 911 Turbo S. Let's just say my buddy got to the restaurant first and the first thing he said was his next car ( his current car is a 2015 GTR - that I beat ) is a AMG E63 with a tune.

While if I was single, this would be perfect. Years has pass that age and don't have a big family ( just me, my wife and 8 year old daughter ) so van is out of the question. A 2+2 seater 2 door sports car is too small for comfort so my choice is the E63.
If I said it once, I'll say it again. Not too many people would be surprised with a 2 door sports car going at insane speed, but those same people "would" be shocked a 4 door sedan that seats 5 comfortably smoking a Porsche.
Is the 911 Turbo S better looking than a E63, yes. But can it do everything that a E63 can while being ahead of the 911. Probably not.
Don't get me wrong. Love the car, but it doesn't serve my family or I would have taken it. Believe me.

We were having this conversation in his heated 8 car garage and as I look down the roll of badass exotics and said uncle, if you gave me a similar deal on the 2014 Lambo Avatar, I just might change my mind.
As a business man he is, he said if you get me another government contract that was double the value, the Lambo is mine.
Going to be busy the next few weeks putting together another deal. If all goes well, I just might have the Lambo to compliment my E63 and GL63 mid 2016.
My friends was actual trying to talk me and my wife into getting the 911 Turbo so I said to my friends. If your driving down the street, nobody would try to race you because your in a 911 Turbo so what is the fun in that? I went on the say the sleeper E63 is a different story. Not a whole lot of people would think the speed a Mercedes can reach so everyone from a 911 to BMW and the list goes on driving down the street looking at a E63 and saying to themselves that Mercedes looks slow, then the sleeper comes to life. Their face expressions are priceless.

Off the green light, the 911 took the lead to about 35mph, then it was history. The 911 has better stopping power, but would take the E63 any day of the week.

I have both. Neither are tuned. (I love my warranties!)
The 991 Turbo S is *significantly* faster than the E63 wagon with the p30 package.
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE them both. But seriously. No comparison.

One of the reasons I bought the car was how much performance, refinement, and comfort you get in a daily driver than looks just like another 911 (but does 0-100 in less than 7 seconds).

Thanks for sharing. Didn't know the GAD E63 was running 750hp, though I know it's a 4matic. My Renntech tune and 200 Cat. was listed at 680hp with RWD though I read Dyno usually proofs it's running at higher than the listed hp.
During my comparison. The 911 got off the line ahead of me to about 35mph, then it was history.
Wish I had a Gopro or a video of some kind to show members, but I don't. I guess this is one of those, video or it didn't happen . Members can take my word for it or not. I am just happy how my 2012 tuned E63 with 2 extra doors sized up against the 911 Turbo S with an MSRP of $170,000 compares to my MSRP of less than $125,000.
Again don't get me wrong, the 911 Turbo S is an awesome car, it's just not a family friendly car for my family or it would be sitting in my garage months ago.

Im with you. My wagon is completely debadged. But you can build a 911 TTS to be very "under the radar" as well.

Where as a Porsche, the only thing that should pop up in people's mind is badass fast sports car. Even the Porsche SUVs with its Turbos.
IMO. It's very hard to fly under the radar with a Porsche and a 2 door at that.

Had an SUV (jeep grand Cherokee) but then when kid #4 arrived my wife wanted to go mini van. Plus her dad is the service Mgr at Honda and pretty much takes care of any issues, etc. I think the biggest thing is the 3rd row seating / easy access to get back there. I'd rather go GL63 but not sure if it has 3rd row...

got a 2006 yukon for three kids, its been fine, except its getting older, no rear view mirror, no easy access to third row ...i like it fits 3 car seats across the middle though....bro has 4 kids went from a ford flex which is ecoboost quick to an oddesy....he doesnt like it but wife does...its practical
im gonna swtich the yukon to either a pacifica, or oddessey,....practical, get some better mileage...new bells and whistles i guess
