0-60 runs - what do you get?
Guys,
I've had my completely stock 2015 E63S 4Matic for three weeks now, and just had an opportunity to try some launches from a stand-still. I was a little surprised by the results and was curious what others were experiencing - no instruments involved just sensory inputs.
Both runs were here in Calgary with temps at about 20C and oil and coolant temps reading in normal range.
Run 1 :ESP Off, Suspension and Transmission in Sport +.
I just brought the car to a stop on a flat straightaway, and then mashed the peddle.
The car seemed to take about a second to respond - which was a little disappointing - but once she started moving it felt almost like the front wanted to lift up - but I got no wheelspin. I thought even with AWD, there would be enough power for a little chirping.
Run 2: Race Start used on the same stretch about 10 minutes later.
Obviously, the responsiveness was much improved, and she still felt like she was lifting off, but still no wheelspin.
How does this compare with your experiences? I wonder if the power loss here due to altitude (we're at about 3400 ft) is enough to prevent wheelspin with the Pirellis.

yeah if it was off i would think you would have gotten a little wheel spin too. since you should still have about 400 lbft to the rear. especially on the street.
how do you like it so far? i was debating the new E63 as well with AWD the exterior in black with the night package looks almost sinister enough, but i just couldnt get past the "oldman-ish" interior. went with a 2012 cls63 instead. the new ipad screen was a deal breaker.

ESP was completely off, which is why I expected some spin.

A lot of it depends on what kind of tires you have. I'm sure those who have all season tires or other non performance compound are going to see some wheel spin even in a awd with the traction control turned off. I know my car with just rwd would light up all season tires in a heartbeat with traction control turned off. I think in a car with this much power the wrong type of tire could actually be dangerous.

My gets sideways some times whereas it just flat burns the tires. ESP off and in sport+ mode. Is it because it's a RWD or more power due to the tune? Don't know, but my tires do burnouts.

W211 E550 Eurocharged tune
I have a 2007 W211 E550 with a Eurocharged Stage 1 tune done on it.
I am running Pirelli tires, and with a Escort Passport performance in car computer, I have measured 0-60 times of Low to mid 4's and 1/4 mile times of low to mid 12's.
Once thing I noticed with the air suspension though is when the car launches, the hood raises up significantly.
Another side note, just K&N air filters in place of stock units, no other performance mods other than tune.
The eurocharged rep when test driving the car after the tuning, said that it pulls VERY hard for an e550. I guess each motor is built a little different, some producing more power than others.
If you arent happy with your cars performance, Eurocharged or Renntech tuning is a way to really wake the car up. Mine still blows my mind every time I drive it down the road.

Clutched or solid supercharger pulley
Hello MB peeps, I’m new to this forum and read a little bit about the clutched and instant pulley for a supercharger. Has there been any recent discussions on this topic? I’m considering going with the instant pulley to do away with the weight as well as quicker throttle response etc... Is anyone experienced with the do’s and dont’s with the instant pulley? Last post I read was in 2015 or 16. Thanks, mxer20
