Got the message (or something similar to that) lit up in red within the speedometer area while driving last night. I was just cruising steadily at 65mph in C, and it was in 7th gear. Outside temp was around 55-60. It stayed on for no more than 5 seconds and disappeared. However, it was so alarming since the message showed up in the same attention-getting format and color similar to the hood or door being opened with a moving car. Nothing registered in the message section when I check. It shifted up and down and drove fine like usual afterward in all settings. Should I be concerned? Should I bring it to service to be checked? I have factory extended warranty on the car.

Thanks for the response.
Stuck in park?!...OH NO. That's what I was afraid someone would say. With factory warranty, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about except the closest dealership is 2.5 hours away. Too bad it didn't happen earlier because I was actually on a 6 hours road trip back from a major metro area with 5 dealership. Okay, keeping my fingers crossed that I wouldn't get grounded.

Would even consider having it towed by roadside
Then if it happens its on them
Code must have been registered/thrown
Please let us know ... And really weird

It will be nice if they can bring a loaner on the flatbed at the same time. Well, there is no loaner available until next Monday evening so I'll be there. Will keep y'all updated.
While there, I'll see if I have time to test drive the E63S and GTS in that dealer's new inventory.

I got my car back yesterday after dropping it off late Monday afternoon. Strangely, the "do not change gear" message never registered in the memory. On the other hand, I have been having occasional "airmatic malfunction" message and they found the airmatic pump to have failed. They also replaced some kind of fuse box (?pre-fuse box). The SA's thinking is the failed airmatic pump might have caused the pre-fuse box to go bad and triggered strange "do not change gear" message I saw.

Didn't even know there were this message. You should have taken a photo of it. nonetheless, bring it in like what your display is telling you.
Good luck.

It's kind of hard to snap a picture when the message appeared for only 5 seconds, unless I was holding a camera in my hand at the time.
