Who is putting miles on their E63s?

I am coming up on 45,000kms in a little over two years.

I use the car for everything - school run, taking clients around, wife and friends out, late night blasts to and from hockey in cold weather, long trips to our vacation home etc.

It really is an exceptional vehicle and I am impressed with the build quality of the bigger sedan over our GLA45 and other, smaller German cars I've owned.

I have had no issues with the car at all. It's done everything I've asked. Brakes will need doing soon but other than that I shouldn't have any other major expenses coming.

I'm curious if others have greater mileage? Anyone have anything to say about how the car has been for you?

14 E63S Wagon, 16 GTS Edition1 (Sold), 17 SL450 designo edition
I have had mine for just under two years and have just over 12,000 miles on the clock. I went with the wagon for more functionality and it has hauled everything for me without issues including small trees that stretched from the tailgate to the rear view mirror. It's great on trips and the AWD makes it a great year around driver. It has turned out to be the best all around vehicle I have owned.

Mercedes SL63 AMG; Mercedes E63 AMG S 4matic; Mercedes C43 AMG; Mercedes S Class, Mercedes GLK
Just picked mine up a few weeks ago and have put a couple of thousand kms on it. It had in service date of May 2014 and now has 55,000 kms in total. It is a good all round vehicle, a nice balance of power and daily driving comfort.

I had also picked up a CLA45 a couple of years back, which I thought might be an ok daily driver but similar to your comment on the GLA, just doesn't compare in quality to any of my other Mercedes. It has become my wife's daily driver and she is ok with it. She likes the speed but the suspension is harsh. It is my company car and I'm stuck with it until next January.

Getting back to the E63, once I turn in the CLA I'll likely turn the E63 over to my wife and pick up an S63 instead. Although I like the E63 I was expecting more. There are days when I still prefer my 12 year old S Class to the E. My observation to this point is there is as much difference between the CLA and the E as there is between the E and the S. I went with the E this time around because the S63 only comes in long wheel base and I didn't want to drive an ocean liner. I'm reconsidering that now as the S is just that much better a vehicle. With all that said the E is a great car and if its service history is like any of my other Mercedes I expect it to perform well into the future.

In about 6 months of ownership, I've averaged about 500km /mth. That might start to change in a few months when I stop working from home and need to commute. The office is only 9km away, though.

2018 GLC 43 & 2014 SLK 350, gone 2016 E63 Wagon
!

I picked up my 2016 E63S wagon in June, 2015 and have put on 15,000 km in 7 months. I use it for my daily commuting plus weekend trips to 'cottage country'. I am impressed at the build quality and certainly have a smile every time I drive it. The wagon is great for carrying loads (moving and renovation supplies - great capacity). I am very impressed by the gas mileage (for a performance 8 cylinder) - similar to my previous 2011 GLK 350 which is hard to believe. Acceleration is exhilarating - maybe like warp speed in the Enterprise and the sound from the exhaust is wonderful! This one is a keeper!

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I'm coming up on 44k on my car, it will be 3 years soon since I've owned the car. No major problems at all, very reliable and fast of course. Wish it rode a little better in comfort mode, but can't have everything. Might try different tires next time around. Just did the 40K service a while ago and the trans oil change was expensive but thats about the only time I'll do that service so no problem.

Lucky guys. Mine 2014 is 9,000miles now . Dashboard which makes noise like it's broken in many places inside, front struts and B&O passenger speaker ( which looks like sand watch) will be replaced soon.

Awesome! Have you had to change your brakes yet? If so how long did they last for you and how much was the replacement?

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
My brakes are only about 1/2 worn at 44K miles so I hope to get 100K miles out of them if I keep going easy on them.

Mine has been good in that I have not had anything I would consider as a major issue. In the almost two years of ownership the only things that have been done to it outside of normal maintenance are;

  1. Overhead console was making some rattling noise within the first few months of ownership which was fixed and has not re-occurred.
  2. Had a slight shimmy at 19K miles, and they narrowed it down to a bad batch of rotors/brakes, and all fours rotors/brakes were replaced under warranty.
  3. Started getting creaking noises from the pano roof at 40 -45K miles, and took it in and was repaired as they had a repair bulletin for it. It required tightening some bolts.
Other than above, car has been a joy to drive.

Brakes and rotors were changed under warranty at 19K miles. I have since changed the brake pads at about 52K, but not the rotors. Went with EBC Rreds and they have been good so far. I am comfortable with them as I have used them on previous vehicles that I have owned.

Cost me about $300 and some change installed.

Did not push the issue. Complained about shimmying, and they determined it was a rotor issue, and that there had been a batch of bad rotors and went ahead and replaced it along with pads. Was quite surprised, but happy they did.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Drive the car everywhere for everything under all weather conditions--even occasionally very slowly and carefully on unpaved road. Currently 1.5 years left on the 7/135K warranty and just recently passed 50K miles.

Better quality and luxury built for sure but do not be deceived, American cars can last just as long or longer without any major work if cared for well. My 2002 mercury Mountaineer went well over 150k and the most I spent on repairs was $1700 for a leaking intake manifold, wheel bearing, some door ajar sensor, and a whole host of maintenance stuff. Not bad for a 13 year old truck that was well used. My dad loves his F150s that he runs forever in really bad road conditions without skipping a beat

Yeah! Drive them boys!

Curious that you changed the rear rotors rather than the fronts first?

My front tires wore out before my rears on both summer and winter sets... First for an amg I'm sure!

All the traction control for the rear wheel slippage ... Burns out those rear brakes and rotors
