This is what I saw... Could be an error but it would be surprising that AMG would not advertise the fact if it were using them, and this is direct from the manufacturer. In the M178 section, it mentions nothing about the turbos other than the hot V configuration. It would be nice to know for sure, I suppose once some tuner disassembles them we will find out!

here is one i found that agrees with your mono scroll reference... interestingly, if M177's have single scroll, the article says it might be due to audi/bmw patent rights that prevent MB from using them .... if thats true, that make me hate bmw even more lol

"For the Mercedes-Benz M177/178, it also uses the reverse-flow cylinder head, so it is an ideal case to use twin-scroll turbochargers with the hybrid connection pattern for exhaust tubs to the turbochargers. However in fact the M177/178 does not use such design. We suspect this may be due to patent conflicts with BMW and Audi."
