E63 dyno numbers

So I went to the dyno today to have a baseline before I tune and decat my E63 and I have mixed feelings on my results. I made 2 runs, I drive 2014 rwd e63 non s. As you can see the first run was my best, the car was cooler I assume and I made 520 rwhp, I was very satisfied but for little time, as I made the second pass I lost almost 100 peak whp, please look at the graph, any takes on what happened? The tuner told he thinks I may have an issue with my ic cooling system, what do you guys think?

Forgive me, based on the graph I'm not seeing 100whp less on the second run....

It's hard to see, but I'm seeing this:
Black Solid Line: HP, Run 1
Black Dashed Line: Torque, Run 1

Green Solid Line: HP, Run 2
Green Dashed Line: Torque, Run 2

...and HP and torque on both runs look pretty consistent. Nice numbers!

Do you see a 100whp difference? at the highest rpms I see a drop off but the peak hp seems about the same for both runs

At exactly 5500 you can see a drop of 80whp maybe I exaggerated but it's still 80 whp and torque as well, the solid line belongs hp and dashed tq, black is fist run green second

Yea, at high RPM the drop-off is there between the two runs. Most likely from letting up on the throttle a bit early.

if the engine is spinning at 5500 rpm, as graph shows, then they didnt let off the throttle

to op, i would say the original assumption of weak IC system is correct.... although you do have 2014 so it should have the updated/divorced IC system, so i would think then maybe you have a failing IC pump

Maybe knock detection on the second run?

He said he lost "peak" hp, and perhaps meant lost hp up to 80whp at the highest rpms ... The peak hp for both runs is less than 80 whp

Op - hope this isn't anything major

Peak HP was about 40rwhp loss, around 5500rpm however had about 100+ RWHP drop. I think timing and boost were cut by ecu

im thinking same due to high IAT's pulling timing... its was 98F when he dyno'd .... probably needs to check ic pump

The run was so quick, they didn't even put the fan in front of the car, im inclining towards heat soak too, is there a way to check of the IC pump is functioning correctly?

I thought all the MY14 E63 were 4MATIC, are you sure yours is RWD? If it is RWD maybe it is a MY13 ? I have a MY14 CLS63 (an S model, just has a more aggressive factory tune), it was only available with 4MATIC and has separate turbo and engine cooling loops. I thought the E & CLS were essentially identical in terms of drivetrain.

At some point around MY13-14 there was a design change that separated the turbo and main engine cooling circuits, if yours is RWD it may still have a shared loop which might explain the change. If so there are aftermarket solutions to separate the engine and turbo intercoolers.

I have the divorced system man, there's no doubt in that.

his is ROW model as he's not in usa, so 2014 outside of usa did come in rwd... i think even the rwd models in usa went to divorced system in late 2013 anyways...

either take it out and hook it up to power source and measure flow rate, or just replace it and see if it fixes it.. they are not super expensive and at some point all of ours will fail... just depends if at 25K , 50K, 100K , 500K miles etc...
