Trying to sell myself on CLS 63

I’m trying to sell myself on the 2012 cls63 but could use some input from experienced owners. I currently drive a 2009 cls550 and love it. I would reorder except I don’t like the fact they’ve moved the shifter to the steering column and since they no longer offer the sport package, the new cls looks a bit timid compared to the 63. I’m afraid the suspension might be too rigid for my comfort in a daily driver. In comfort mode is the cls 63 suspension comparable the cls 550 comfort mode? Also, the start/stop every time the car stops sounds terrible! I do a lot of city driving.
Thanks, I appreciate any input.

Suspension feel is so subjective that you have to go with the above posted advice. What is right for me, based on your rigid comment, is probably not right for you.

So a test drive is a must do.

Also the start stop feature can be disengaged.

Can the start/stop be disengaged permanently or do you have to turn it off every time you start the car? I realize the suspension is subjective. I was just wondering if anyone thought it was too stiff for a daily driver. I’m guessing it’s nothing like the 911 I used to drive. I’m heading for a test drive this weekend, problem is the closest dealer with a cls63 is about 220 miles away. Thanks for the input.

It requires a push of a button after you start the car...

The PP suspension is very taut but great on smooth roads. I love it. But I think most would find it harsh in the stiffest setting. You do have 3 options for firmness so if you ran comfort mode you would probably be ok. I never drive either one of my PP cars without the stiffest suspension on.

The std AMG suspension will be tighter than the CLS550 suspension mode to mode and then the PP AMG is one level up on the AMG.

220 miles is too far you are right. What type of 911 did you have, what year was it?

2006 carerra cab. Loved that car, a gas to drive, would love to have it as a weekend car but I guess I'm getting old. I don't like getting bounced around while commuting. That's why I'm concerned about the ride on the cls 63.
