Its the lighting conditions - very overcast that day, with sun you can see out very easily... its 20% tint.

As for the west coast thing, thats bs, its just a Hyp thing. Do a search or actually check out some posts and understand that modifying cars is not territorial in nature. I know you dont want to lower you car and thats fine; its just ironic that you do all other cosmetic mods that generally follow a suspension mod like wheels, lip spoilers, diffusers etc.

my 991 has a 1 finger stock gap via SPASM (SPORT Porsche Mode suspension)... your e63 could house a family of 5 in that wheel well as a tent.

What do you know about the KW kit- have you ever rode or driven in a car for a long period of time with the kit? Did you know the spring rates are completely adjusted to create an even more comfortable ride at slower speeds? I know this because I had the kit on both my cars. You wont find a better spring currently and any non sleeve kit wont be as good and any coilover kit will make you cry. You do know that the PP dampeners play a much larger role in comfort than springs. Springs set the height and work in unison with the dampeners but the PP dampeners have a high much higher resistance to compression and rebound.

Can we just see one pic of Vdubs car not in the garage? Or at least more of the rented Maserrati or the Jetta you used to have? Just a pic of your car not sitting in the garage. Or even a pic of your car with photoshopped wheels. Or a pic of your car sitting on blocks! Just something.

my car sits in the perfect setup tuned by the experts in affalterbach.....

in MY opinion, i personally felt that the NON PP and PP suspensions were pretty similiar, relatively indistinguishable on everyday regular driving ( whatever that means)....I understand that your daily commute you probably have better opportunities to to push the limits of the suspension of your respective vehicles, and i envy that for sure....and that your always looking for the tightest handling set up.

true, i dont have a lot of experience driving or riding in a KW car, but i have some, and it is stiffer than PP even in comfort mode. For my commutes, sure its tolerable, but not necessary.

now by no means do i disagree with anyone about lowering a car.....in MY opinion a vast majority of enthusiast lower cars simply for aesthetics, not for handling.....Myself included....hell all of my cars have always been lowered.....

the 500 went from this

to this

anyways, i was talking with one of the heads of a top mercs tuner in so-cal at mercedes madness and they said they have designed a different system to lower the car by just changing the front spring and that the rear will somehow correspond to the correct setting.....i dont know or understand the details of it yet but they said that the ride is good. ... we will see

I hear you on the daily driving of rhe car. The PP cars, to me, clearly have a firmer set up due to the dampeners but I always ran my car on the most aggressive shock mode. As for the perfect setup, I believe that the factory probably creates the best cost effective and optimal set up for the majority of the drivers out there. But there are alot of track junkies that will attest with their times that a modified suspension done right and correctly aligned will improve the true driving performance of the car. For a Benz, they are not sports cars. Lets face it, all of the AMG's here (sans the Black and maybe a few choice models) are GT cruisers- so enhancing the spring height is probably not going to affect the average Joe driver or even a more seasoned driver. The car is not made to be pushed to such limits on a track. I think Porsches are more geared towards the sports car mentality and thus Ill keep my suspension stock on that car- but I do thank them for offering the ability to get a car 20mm lower from the factory turn key style. The 991 offers an option call pasm which drops it 10mm and if one gets spasm then its 20mm lower than the stock 991- oh btw the R8 was dropped 20mm with gmg springs and it rides and performs better than stock IMHO

Had my cls63 dropped with the KW kit today and there is definitely very noticeable difference in how it drives. Not sure if I like it or not especially with the terrible roads in Atlanta. Also noticed a lot more road noise with the Michelin tires. But it does look amazing with the drop! Will post pictures tomorrow when weather clears up.

That's some huge-looking rims on the S. Are they 21" or something? What's the tire sidewall ratio on the S? I wonder how you negotiate the trashy NJ pothole-ridden roads with those.
