ALPHA 5.5 Biturbo Carbon Fiber Intake System Update **PICS**
We already know that a more exhilarating level of power and torque can be safely extracted from the exhaust and tuning upgrades found in our ALPHA 7 performance package for the 2011+ CLS63 and 2012+ E63 AMG seen here:
The implementation of a much larger, more balanced and less restrictive intake system will only serve to further improve the performance of an upgraded 5.5L Biturbo ( M157 ) equipped Mercedes.
The Alpha Performance Mercedes 5.5L Biturbo Carbon Fiber Intake System was engineered to serve that purpose. We redesigned the entire intake system - not just the air filters or the filter box tops. It will be considerably larger than anything now available and will provide your AMG improved air flow dynamics for greater efficiency. What does this mean?
In our design, the cross-sectional area of the air box filter was increased by 41%. Cross-sectional area of the inlet was increased by 20%, while the outlet was increased by 25%. Each of the three sections were proportionally scaled to these sizes in order to reduce bottle-necking within the system. Unlike other intake systems or air filter upgrades, we designed it to complement stock power to over 1000 horsepower with greater efficiency than just increasing the size of the stock dimensions alone.
Test fitting of our 3D model is complete and we are now on our way to developing hard parts for this system. Construction of the air box cover, intake and outlet piping will consist of prepreg carbon fiber (which will be autoclave cured). We also provide larger front inlet ducts and air box bases to facilitate increased air flow. High quality, custom-molded silicone couplers will also be included to complete the circuit (inlet couplers are wire-reinforced and stand no chance of separating from the silicone).
If performance, aesthetics and quality are of most concern to you when upgrading your 5.5L Biturbo equipped AMG, then the Alpha Performance Mercedes 5.5L Biturbo Carbon Fiber Intake System is worth the wait! Release is expected in a few short months. Subscribe to our blog and we’ll keep you updated!

RENNtech has one that does not seem to be as complete as this and they are asking $5k. They claim 10hp & 10tq.
AMS, when do you expect product release and hp numbers?
